I have had time to think and digest what happened last night and I believe everyone needs to know what happened to us. Since Fus just re-opened in another location my sister and I thought it would be a great idea to grab dinner and some drinks. I have lived in Canada for 11 years and I have NEVER had a racial confrontation incident with any manager at a restaurant before, there are subtle micro aggressions and poor services at establishments we receive from time to time based on the colour of our skin but never anything like this. The manager treated us so poorly and I want everyone to know because it was HORRIBLE !!!

We had a conversation with the manager in which we narrated the miscommunication that may have happened between her usher/server after we lost a table for reseating. I tried correcting the story that she had received from her server which described us as having “attacked” her and “attacked” is the word she used. She approached us charged with her aggressive body language and undressed me and my guests, she was incredibly rude, combative and confrontational. Her body language was aggressive, her verbiage and the way she conducted herself up in my face to a point where you could tell that she was poking to try and get a reaction or rise out of us and least we react we will be called “Angry Black Women”.

She was condescending and proceeded to tell us that, “that’s why there are reservations for a reason” and continued to antagonize us and then later called the security on us and asked us to leave. She had the opportunity to rectify her conduct and address us in a more dignified manner like we deserve because we are human beings but she did not. You cannot offer horrible service as a manager and then expect me pay after your racist behaviour, you must be joking. Only a fool would ask us to pay for drinks after we have had a such a horrible experience.

Black folks this message is for you, I would do you a disservice if I didn’t warn y’all. Go at your own risk and peril.

P.s While I was seating having my drink waiting for my sister and friend I took a picture which captured this quote, “They wanted to silence him so the information wouldn’t leak”. How ironic because we will not be SILENCED.

Fu's Repair Shop is undeniably one of the best restaurants in Edmonton for Asian cuisine. Our recent visit to this vibrant eatery left us thoroughly impressed with both the food and the service.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a bustling atmosphere, quite remarkable for a Thursday evening. Thankfully, we had made a reservation, which is highly recommended due to the restaurant's popularity.

The menu boasts a variety of intriguing dishes, but the standouts for us were the pork wonton in chili oil, the miso goma salad, and the crazy rich rice noodles. The pork wontons were delicate and packed with flavor, perfectly complemented by the spicy chili oil. The miso goma salad was a refreshing start to our meal, with a delightful blend of flavors and textures that left us craving more. However, the highlight was undoubtedly the crazy rich rice noodles. This dish was an explosion of taste, with a rich, savory sauce that perfectly coated the tender noodles.

For dessert, we indulged in the Kansai mess, a deconstructed cheesecake that was nothing short of perfection. My wife particularly loved this dessert, and I must agree, it was a delightful end to our meal.

Our server, Morsal, was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the evening. Her recommendations were spot on, enhancing our dining experience.

I also must mention the mango lassi cocktail, which was a refreshing and innovative twist on the classic drink. It was the perfect accompaniment to our meal, adding a sweet and tangy note that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Overall, Fu's Repair Shop offers an exceptional dining experience with its superb Asian cuisine, fantastic service, and lively atmosphere. If you're in Edmonton and in search of a memorable meal, this is the place to go. Just remember to book a reservation to secure your spot at this popular dining...

From the moment you step into Fu's Repair Shop you know you are in for a playful adventure… the dining room is decked out like an old garage with exposed brick and walls lined with wrenches and neon lights and a sea of red lanterns overhead… there is a bustling open kitchen and sometimes a live DJ or playlist that gives the space a speakeasy vibe while still feeling cozy and romantic… the menu offers an inventive spin on Asian street food and dim sum with rich flavours and fun plating… we shared green onion pancakes and dumplings dripping with umami broth, crispy Peking duck tacos and juicy Shanghai noodles… each small plate was fresh and artfully presented with bold sauces and spices… the cocktail program is equally creative with drinks like the mango lassi martini and a spicy Thai basil gin sour that pair perfectly with the food… service was friendly and attentive and our server made great recommendations and timed each course perfectly… despite the lively bar scene it felt upscale and comfortable enough for a date night or celebratory dinner… vegetarians and guests with food allergies are accommodated with dishes like charred cauliflower and salads and the kitchen is happy to adjust ingredients upon request… there is a wheelchair accessible entrance and washroom and although parking is paid street only the staff will point you to the nearest spots… we recommend booking a table for dinner because this place fills up quickly… overall Fu's Repair Shop is a fun blend of trendy lounge and modern Asian eatery and I can’t wait to return with friends for another night of cocktails and...

Well, it’s a vibe that’s for sure! The decor and music is really awesome, so I’m certain that is what keeps drawing people to try this place. We made a reservation for 5pm last night. We decided to split 4 different main courses and 2 desserts to give different things a try. The food was good, but not exceptional. I highly suggest you skip the dessert all together. They also had a few things on the menu unavailable, and ran out of ingredients as we were there claiming a menu turn over next week. Since we were out celebrating we added cocktails to the mix. Very small, and on the pricey side, but tasted okay. Service is what is really lacking here. We constantly felt rushed to leave by our server, even though when she would check in we would order another cocktail. No where in the reservation did it say there was a time limit, so we thought hmmm, why is she wanting us to leave? We looked around several times and while busy there were still always tables free. At one point she came up and before even asking us if we wanted another drink she asked “so did you want the bill seperate or together?”We had been there 2 hours and said well we would like one more drink please. When she came back after that drink she told us we now had 15 mins to finish up as someone else needed our table. Yet she took more than 15 minutes to bring us the machine to pay, and when we walked out NO ONE was waiting for a table. Not to mention that once again we walked by empty tables. We finished our night out at a Brewery which we felt much more welcomed at. Really disappointed, as we drove from out of Town to support them.
