Sandwich & Burger Patch — Restaurant in Edmonton

Update 2025: Still fantastic, love this place. Local, family-owned and run, friendly, good & fresh food. Though I only come here a few times a year, they have never disappointed.

Original: Had the Patch Burger and Poutine.

First off, these portions are MASSIVE. If this is a "Side" Poutine, I wonder what their Large is.

Patch Burger: Great presentation, looked amazing when unwrapping Patties look to be hand-formed and are quite thick, but were still cooked all the way through They used thick-cut bacon, which really stood out for texture (maybe a downside if you prefer crispy/crunchy bacon) Two different kinds of cheese were a nice touch My lettuce was arranged to have full coverage of the bun and patty, good attention to detail

The only things I could pick on: Their Patch Sauce (seems like it's based on thousand island) was just okay, I feel that classic ketchup, mustard, and relish would've complemented the burger more, it lacked a bit of acidity The pickles were there, but the texture was limp. I like a good crisp pickle for burgers The patties themselves were at the cusp of being dry, a higher-fat ground beef mix might add a bit more juiciness The patties also didn't seem to have much seasoning, but I can see this being a preference

Don't let these nitpicks sway you though, this was a GREAT burger, and definitely above what I had expected going in. I would come here again for burgers.

The Poutine No complaints about the fries, perfect fried and not dry Gravy was a good thickness/consistency for poutine and not too salty Cheese curds melted and mixed well Overall just a classic poutine

I have been coming here for a few years now. My business is right around the corner so have had the opportunity to essentially eat all their dishes. I was sad to hear that the previous owners were moving along as I had grown to love them and their food. I was honestly expecting this place to take a step back in their food and service and they have managed to make it even better! I love that it is still a family run business. Their burgers are better (you can tell they make them fresh each day) and the kind service they give each day goes a long way to making a long work day a great day. I already have been recommending this place for a while, but now I am telling people they HAVE to go check out this place. I recently visited Sandwich and Burger Patch, and I must say, it was one of the best burger experiences I've ever had. The burger was perfectly juicy, packed with flavor, and simply mouthwatering. It’s easily among the top burgers I’ve ever tried. The crispy fries were another highlight—perfectly golden, crunchy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside. They complemented the burger beautifully, making the meal truly satisfying. What made the experience even better was the warm and friendly service. The lady who served us was incredibly nice, making us feel right at home with her genuine hospitality.
