Wok Box - Ellerslie — Restaurant in Edmonton

Me and my mother were treated very poorly on our visit. On arrival, the worker demanded we made a purchase before giving us the bathroom key, while my mom was visibly in distress needing to use the washroom. After I made the order, she handed me my receipt which I tossed in the trashcan. She then followed my mother to the washroom, opened the door for her, and questioned her on the whereabouts of the keys when she walked out (she had kept them, but had forgotten). When she was unable to find the receipt she had given me, she told my mother that I didn't pay, before even checking the system. She ordered my mother to grab me from my car outside, and when I walked in, she asked if I had paid (while SHE was the one who gave me my receipt). after a few moments, she was able to find my order in the system with help from a senior manager. She never apologized for her behaviour or accusation, instead sneakily walking off in the back to hide. As a black man, I'm used to this type of treatment; I shrug it off. But to disrespect my mother in this way is unacceptable. I feel more sad for this nasty lady than angry, it must be difficult to hold so much contempt for people you don't even know. We had a bad service from the guy at the front, when we first came in he did not greet us well and looks like he's mad for visiting this restaurant and doesn't want us to serve food at all. He kept yelling on me and my friends even though we're not doing anything, he also had a missing order from us and he blame us for ordering late just because we just got off from work. We will never come back in this location again. We were here last night and it was like 1am and were just gonna pick up the order here then leave and that's our plan, but the thing is he did not do our orders right away and he said it will take about 5 more minutes so we just sat there and wait and my other friends had their food and while were waiting, my friends eat their food there while waiting because were really hungry and then he started to yell at us that he cleaned the tables already, and we did not make any...

I ordered a hunan kung pao with chicken & shrimps (take out) on june 29th. I got home and to my surprise, chicken was missing from the dish. I lost my appetite entirely. Called the location & associate (Parul) offered me a free meal. So I went today and lady at the cashier (assuming franchisee) refused to honour the free meal and categorically said "she will not give the free meal, coz they just missed the chicken". I was like , "r u listening to urself" Instead of going over and beyond and trying to win the customer back, she annoyed me all the more. Not sure what the policy of wokbox is coz

1. She was not wearing a uniform.
2. No greetings to begin with or eye contact.
3. There were 2 more people at the back speaking in their native language
4. No empathy statement as it was their fault. Overall a pathetic experience....infact they had a chance to fix it and they screwed it...
