New restaurant in UBC marketplace with a variety of Japanese and Chinese dishes, and bubble tea. They had a promotion where you could get a free drink (chosen by them - it was lemon tea when I was there) with certain dishes for $12.99. I was interested in the corn croquette set and it happened to be on the list, so I got the lemon tea with it. I almost ordered a different drink instead, but I’m glad I gave the lemon tea a chance; it was very refreshing. The croquette set was quite good. It came with croquettes, two sauces and roasted sesame seeds, wakame, kimchi, miso soup, and rice. The croquettes were a little oiler than I like (they are deep-fried of course, but some Japanese deep fried items don’t come off as oily), but not seriously offensive, and there was nothing else to complain about. The curry sauce was very good. Their miso soup has onions, which I like! The portion was huge! I couldn’t believe they were offering this for $13! I wasn’t in a good position to take leftovers home so I barely touched the rice and I was still stuffed. And they offer refills on the cabbage and miso soup, so I actually could’ve gotten even more food. Even the regular menu prices are very reasonable for the amount of food - you could totally make two meals out of this. The tip options on the machine are 8-12% or something like that, so this is a really affordable way to get a filling table service meal. The place looked pretty clean, including the washroom. All the staff was very nice. I definitely recommend it for students because it’s affordable, but also the kind of food you would want to eat not just because it’s affordable, but it’s good. Worth a...

I got the chicken wings today. $25 for 6 pieces is outrageous. The chicken wings were also some of the worst that I've ever had. The outside skin was good, but the inside tasted strange and was too pink.
The custard buns were not warm enough on the inside and had a strange aftertaste. Also not worth the $5/2.
Even the drinks were a disappointment. They used to be very good, but this it was not sweet enough and the tea was not strong enough.
Plus, my friend got a fried rice. The price was around the same as before (~$25?), but the portion size was maybe around half of what you used to get.
Only a few things were good. My other friend got a katsu set, and nothing changed for that. Also since I was still hungry after getting only 6 chicken wings, I got the szechuan beef and offal dish (~$14) and it was pretty good, with a strong szechuan pepper fragrance. Plus, service was...
Read moreOrdered minced pork and the dish came with no pork. Asked 3 times about this:
1st time: Server didn't speak English so unfortunately didn't understand my question about the dish not having minced pork.
2nd time: Ignored
3rd time: requested the dish be taken back since its not like the picture and had no meat and instead of taking the dish back was told to "pretend that it has pork" then she walked away, absolutely no exaggeration here.
Finally the 1st server came back with minced pork and rudely said in Cantonese "is this enough?" then threw the meat on the dish.
Other dishes were good, service was absolutely terrible, dishes were missing sauce, soup came with no spoon.
Usually I do not care about this kind of stuff because it gets fixed quickly and I hate complaining but the service was just so uninviting and rude I had to write a review. We couldn't believe what we were...
