My absolute favorite place to grab a bite on the UBC campus. You can’t go wrong with their selection, just trust your stomach! I recommend the fried rice + beef stew and the spicy chicken but really anything they have is fantastic. It’s a cost effective meal as well, $10 for a portion that can even be two meals for some people. The staff is very sweet, the auntie doesn’t really speak English so if she seems rude it’s not that it’s intentional- she’s just focused on making sure she gets you the meal you’re looking for. And having lived in Asia myself, I can attest to the authenticity of this restaurant, even the ambience makes me feel like I’m back in a Singaporean hawker center grabbing some lunch.

Generous portions and tasty I got lunch from My Home Cuisine Combo on two consecutive days, and both experiences were great! On the first day, I tried the green beans, eggplant, and spicy fried chicken — all were flavorful and freshly made. The next day, I went for rice, fried chicken, and more eggplant because I enjoyed it so much the first time. The portions are more than generous — definitely more than you'd expect for the price. I paid around $15 each time, and it was well worth it. If you're in the area and looking for quick, delicious Chinese takeout, I highly recommend giving this place a try!

Cheap and filling meal. Had a beef stew with rice, fried fish, and fried chicken. Over all it was not bad although the fried items were slightly on the bland and dry side for my taste. Pretty decent for food on campus. I liked that the containers were thick and microwave-able plastic which is good for take out people. Edit: Inconsistent portions sometimes and some of the food items can be on the greasy side. Still a solid 4 star and worth it though

I would absolutely NEVER recommend this as correct place to go to. In Canada, we value treating workers ethically and unfortunately, this restaurant has failed to do so. The owner verbally abuses the workers (especially the ones working at the front) and thinks it's okay to criticize them for many things that are very irrelevant to the job. I was once a worker here and the owner criticized me for not having a "bright" personality since I was born in Canada and said I behave like someone born in China. Entire meaning of that comment is disgusting and until today I still remember it because of how ridiculous it was. The manager does not qualify the basic ethics standards to become an employer and no employee should ever bow down to such a boss who does not have any respect to employees.I personally don't think that going to a restaurant whose manager does not treat employees ethically is a correct...
