I have ordered here from Skip, and there has been consistency in portion and taste, so I decided to dine in last weekend. The food is delicious. You may ask the chef to customize some dishes according to your palate and within reasonable limits. The restaurant is clean and has lots to offer in terms of vegetarian food and also non-vegetarian food. My friends tried their fish dishes and raved about them a lot. However, my personal experience is limited to vegetarian food. Let us start with their tandoori roti; it is soft, and one tastes wheat flavour very strongly, which tells me there is no to significantly less all-purpose flour mixed into it. The roti will remain soft and worth reheating if you take it home (for takeout) for the next day. So, they have one of the better roti I have tasted in Edmonton. I tried chilli soya chaap, chilli mushroom, and chilli paneer and veg momos. All of them were at par with the taste of one who may have eaten these dishes in Delhi. It was flavourful and not loaded with red chilli or red chilli sauce or that sweet and sour sauce that many other Indian restaurants use for their Chilli gravy. It was gingery, garlicky, and had some green chilli spice that excites your pallet and not burns it. The portion size was ample as well.
My special attention went to how clean their cutlery was and how appealing their food presentation was.
I would give my experience 10/10. It was worth the money, and the chilli dishes exceeded my expectations. It would be best if you tried it; it is worth it. They also do catering, which I was told...
Read moreUpdate: this went from a one star review to a five. The owner, Hemant contacted me directly. They gave us a free replacement order so we would get to try the food. It was absolutely delicious.
When my husband picked it up, the woman at the counter also apologized for the past experience. The delivery company also contacted me. They did issue the refund, but also apologized for the error.
Lesson? Mistakes do happen, and not every day is perfect. Good small businesses do exist. Both companies will get my orders again.
Just had the most terrible experience. Ordered directly from their website for delivery thinking it was their own delivery service. Order arrived, it was NOT our order. Called the restaurant as stated on my emailed receipt. I am told to call DoorDash for a refund. I did NOT order on DoorDash. She then says it’s some other company (iOrder maybe?) and that I have to call a different number with a 306 area code for a refund. In fairness to that company, they said I will see the refund within 24 hours, but as of right now, I am out $77.41 and we didn’t get any food. Worst customer service I have ever had. No offer to try and help or arrange a replacement order. It was our first time ordering from this place and we were excited to try something new. I guess we will never know if it...
