Food is pretty good, we've come here a lot since moving to Fernie. Had a few issues with one of the servers there, not sure if she just doesn't care or just doesn't like her job but last weekend was the final straw. We came in for my birthday on March 8 got in at about 9 pm. Yes it was busy, it was Jam Night, but we didn't see our server until like 9:20. I really nicely asked her if they had done last call for food yet as the kitchen closes at 10 pm and she rolled her eyes at me and said she had to go talk to the kitchen. Didn't come back for over 20 minutes, and just goes "what do you want". The 5 of us placed our order but my partner has some dietary restrictions, when he tried to explain them to her she actually rolled her eyes again and said "I don't want to deal with all this and the kitchen is going to hate you but I'm not going to explain this to something who clearly doesn't work industry" I've worked industry for 10 years, I don't care how busy you are, that kind of attitude towards a customer is actually disgusting. And to top it off, the order still come out wrong. I actually called the next day to complain to a manager and was told none was in so a gentlman (I forget the name) took my info a brief description with a promise for a manager to call me back. I've called twice this week in an attempt to talk to a manager as I really didn't want to leave a review and still no one has called me or a manager has miraculously not been working when I called. Really sad because we actually like coming here but with so many issues with the same servers and her actually ruining the vibes of my birthday dinner and then management not seeming to care, it's just left a really bad taste and I'm not sure if...
Read moreJust experienced Fernie Hotel and Pub. The bartender didn’t tell us about the special when we sat down. A mini jug that is two Fernie Pints. We ordered Fernie pints anyways. Four to be exact. Which would equal two specials. Then we overheard about the special. When I asked the bartender why he didn’t offer us the special he proceeded to call me names. Calling me a child and saying an adult is expected to ask for the specials. Funny I’ve drank and eaten at many restaurants and pubs and have never had to ask the special. You think given that we ordered the special in separate glasses it would of struck him to tell us. Despite his incredible rudeness and name calling I asked nicely if he could simply charge us for two specials. He said no and continued to call myself and my girlfriend names. I told him I’m not paying for 4 separate pints instead of two specials and he told us to never come back. I have to laugh a bit. In what world would I come back to a place with this disgusting and rude of service. We will never return and I’ll make sure to keep anyone I know away from this establishment. That includes friend, family, and clients I...
Read moreDecided to take wife N son out for lunch, picked the Fernie because we hadn't been for a while and is walking distance from wife's work. First impression when you walk in is the remodel, it lightened everything up and all looks great. Second thing that I noticed right away is the place smelled clean, not like some bars that have been around forever. The staff were all set up very well for the Covid thing and were on top of the place. Wife ordered steak salad, my son the brisket sandwich, I had to try the fish and chips. Salad was well put together and fresh, the brisket sandwich was a beast! It was all my 6' 5" son could do to finish it, it smelled great and tasted the same. The fish and chips.. we have tried to order on Friday night a few times but were sold out, had to see why, it was excelent, light crispy batter on good size fish filets. We usually stop by Tim's fish in Creston for good fish, now we don't have to drive 2 + hours for really good fish and chips. Oh ya and good to see the mid day regulars ( Alistair and crew) still...
