Ms. B's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Fort McMurray

You hear around town about food being good here. Well I have yet to taste that!

The service here has got to be the worst you can find here in Fort McMurray, unless of course you're in their what seems to be the local crowd.

You walk in here and there's a sign that says please wait to be seated. They kind of look around a bit and just point you in a direction and sit you at a dirty table. Then a waitress shows up in a couple minutes to clean the table, I said Thank you and received no comment back multiple times.

I decided I wanted to try out a Poutine that I haven't had. I had 3 choices, Yummy Burger, Ms B's or New York Fries. I chose Yummy Burger first only to find that they were closed at 2pm on a Sunday, understandable as it's a Mom & Pop shop. So then I decided to try out Ms. B's Poutine. I seen someone order this once before(I won't get into that distasteful day right now) and it looked great!

Well I get to Ms B's with my Fiance and we are pointed at a table to sit down at, I notice a few people coming in having very friendly conversations with the waitresses. Well 3 groups of people after we are seated are helped before we are even asked what we want to drink. A waitress walks by and asks if we ordered 2 beers and an orange juice. I politely let her know we haven't been helped yet. Once she helps us we both order a glass of water Poutine and decide to share an order of their Onion Rings as well.

Water arrives roughly 10 minutes after we're seated. 25 Minutes after we've been seated, order has been placed. We're told they don't have any cheese for the Poutine and the order cannot be VOID. We were asked if we would like to replace the curds with Cheese SAUCE ?!? Or just take the gravy and fries by itself.

Okay... I said to myself.

So I told the waitress that the only reason we came was for the Poutine as we've never tried it here. She said so you'll just take the onion rings and pay for the 2 Poutine you've ordered as well since it cannot be void. I told her I don't want any of it.

She dashes off to one of her co-workers and explains to her that they have no cheese and we don't want the Poutine or onion rings because of it. Her co-worker said well go tell I assume the manager in the "office" and advised her that it's now their fault and we should have to pay for the order.

Well we we're walking out the door as she was mentioning this.

We will never ever go back here. This is the second time I've had bad...

I came here on a referral from a coworker. He said the Monte cristo sandwiches were really good.

I don't know if I'll give them another chance... We waited for over 5 minutes at the front... I walked around the restaurant looking for someone and finally someone came out. I understand they might have been short staffed so I didn't mind that part however I ordered a steak sandwich and home cut fries. The Fries were soggy... We did take it to go eat 2 mins down the road at the river but I don't think they should've went soggy that fast... Again, I'll give them benifit of the doubt there.... However my steak which was supposed to be medium rare was grey and very tough. I think they microwaved a frozen steak maybe. There were a few carrots which were too hard (not cooked enough).

The mozza sticks were decent enough.

All around it was a bad eating experience. I do not recommend the steak. It was so tough I used it as Bait on my fishing hook and even this fish didn't want it 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Restaurant looked cozy and I used the bathroom which was very clean so 3 stars for atmosphere. But the food...

Food was good to me, came out hot and it had some flavor to it which is hard to find in most restaurants these days. I found it strange though, usually a waitress hardly allows you a bite or two of your food when you get it before asking how it is. My waitress never came back to check on me. Never asked about refills, and usually they ask if we'd like dessert. Mine didn't even try to upsell dessert. When I went to pay for my meal I went to the cash register and the guy waiting to buy baked goods told her to go ahead and help me first. She handed me the bill, I handed her the money. She looked at me strangely and then turned around and helped the guy behind me instead of putting the money in the till she kept it in her hand as she helped him. I found that awfully strange as most waitresses or people at the tills will usually put the money in the cash box you for helping the next person. No thank you very much or have a nice...
