Although I am always reluctant to give a local restaurant a poor star rating, unfortunately it's time. This was our 3rd, less than stellar experience at Original Joe's and I'm hoping some improvements happen as a result of this feedback. On a positive note, thankfully, the food quality has not changed and we enjoyed our meal very much. However, OJ's seems to be chronically understaffed which effects the level of service their remaining servers are able to give. Please note, our server was extremely friendly and efficient as she could be given the circumstances. This review is no reflection on her as she seemed to do the absolute best she could in the situation. As far as we could see, there were only 2 servers working the entire restaurant, which was decently full for Mother's Day. Before you comment that perhaps they gave their "Mom servers" the day off, this has been the same issue on our 2 previous visits. These servers ran the whole time we were there but clearly the lack of staff results in various shortfalls of service such as our dirty appy plates left on table through meal, empty drinks, and an extended dining time. Also, when did Original Joe's start allowing little kids?!? No, I'm not a monster - just out of that stage of life and it was nice to have somewhere to go which was all adults. All in all, it seems OJ's is suffering boom time staff shortages in a time when many people are...
Read moreSo we used to go here every week for wing night before we moved away. We're on vacation and couldn't wait to go back to our favourite spot for wing night. Well, as much as I don't like to write a poor review, I have to be honest with my reviews. Food - the wings were not great (like leftovers), but still edible amd decent. Just not like before amd they didn't seem fresh. Service - it seems as though our server may have learned to check in on your guests for good service, but Holy! I bet she came to our table asking if we were OK like 50 times. If we have full beers on the table, we don't need more. Just so over the top that we almost left a few times. Overdoing it is just as bad (sometimes worse) than no asking. Then when it comes time for the tip, staring at the machine so obvious to see what tip i will give. The lowest option on the screen is set to 18%....no way was i leaving that. I switched to other so I could leave 15% (just because we WERE checked on) but would have left 20% had we been able to enjoy some peace without constant interruption to excessively check on us.
If you decide to go here, as for fresh wings (hoping they'll know that you know sometimes they don't seem fresh), and maybe be more direct with your server to let her know that you are OK and you will track her down if you...

If you’re looking for a spot with great vibes, delicious food, and top-notch service, Original Joe’s hits the mark. It’s got that perfect sports bar energy—lively but not overwhelming, with plenty of TVs to keep up with the game and a menu that delivers on all fronts.
Heather and Carrie were absolute standouts during our visit. Heather greeted us like we were old friends, setting a laid-back but attentive tone right off the bat. Carrie kept things running smoothly, making sure our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Their teamwork and friendly attitudes really elevated the experience.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the menu: the Pacific Rim Noodle Bowl. Trust me, this dish is everything. The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are cooked just right, and the fresh veggies and tender protein options make it a winner every time. It’s the kind of meal that surprises you in the best way—comforting but with a little extra something that keeps you coming back.
Overall, Original Joe’s nails it for a casual night out. Great food, amazing service (shoutout to Heather and Carrie!), and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay for another round....
