A&W Canada — Restaurant in Greater Strathcona

This location deserves MORE than five stars but in order to post, I have to give it only five.

Ever since the COVID-19 caused business' to close their interior operations for patrons this location has still maintained customer service for people who arrive by public transit, on foot, large trucks and by bicycle. When their dinner room is closed, they will still serve people who walk up their drive thru window with cash/debit/credit card payment. They have a small window by patio area, where they can hand off food to patrons and to these delivery app drivers.

Unlike McDonalds Restaurants of Canada Ltd. who really fumbled the ball in their handling of customer service during these times of the COVID-19 global epidemic, This A & W location prevailed by still serving patrons, without an app, that only works till 8:00 PM for curb side service with a debit/credit card only payment. Assuming one of the McDonalds managers (of the 7419 -82 Avenue location) actually knows what she was talking about, which she didn't in regards to the McApp. Or she did know but still placed the blame on me in how I supposedly didn't know to properly use the McDonalds phone App. Her "demonstration" on how to "properly" use the McDonalds smartphone app wasn't very convincing.

McDonalds Restaurants of Canada has lost revenue not because of COVID-19 but how they chose to serve (and NOT serve) patrons during this global pandemic crisis. By discriminating against people who don't come to their restaurant using a car/small truck. McDoanlds sure lost revenue from people like me and this A & W location gained by it by actually serving walk up traffic via their drive thru window, with or without the A&W phone app. Taking cash, not just debit/credit card.

Those people in the McDonalds Restaurants of Canada Ltd. boardroom don't deserve to be paid what they are paid. A real failure in leadership when it comes to adjusting to these irregular times in customer service.

Thank you A&W for working to a higher standard than some multi BILLION DOLLAR WORLD WIDE ENTERPRISE who DISCRIMINATES against people who walk up to their drive thru window, instead of being in a motor vehicle (assuming that it fits through the drive thru since larger vehicles have a larger turning radius), so they can get...

The lady in the drive threw window this morning was so rude. I asked for 5 breakfast sandwhiches. Once i got the bag i checked them (for some reason when you order bacon on a sausge sandwhich you never seem to get it not just here but anywhere lol) and i was right so i backed up and waitied a couple minutes after making eye contact with the girl several times for her to come back up to the window and say to me "what is it?" I stated that one of the sandwiches was missing bacon. She said no there is 5 sandwhiches there. I told her thats not what im saying im saying i paid extra for one of these sandwiches to have both meats and neither one of them has it. She rolled her eyes RIPPED the bag out of my hand went to the back and fixed one of the sandwiches. As she was doing so i was texting my buddies to let them know i was soon omw back. Next think i knew she was jiggling the bag in my face aggressively saying "here". Dropped it even befor i had a full grasp on it and stormed off. I did end up catching it. Thank goodness really didnt want to deal with her again. ......Like when i backed up back to the window i was very polite and just stated there was a slight error.... i dont belive i was in the worng simply asking what i piad for.
