Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Guelph

Wanted to try this new fast food restaurant so we stopped in for dinner tonight. I expected big flavours of southern chicken but was quite disappointed.

We had both the spicy and regular chicken pieces as well as the tenders, fries, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese sides to try a spread of the menu.

Overall we noticed the lack of flavour on both the regular and spicy chicken pieces. The chicken tenders had no flavour at all. In terms of flavour I think Popeyes does a better job, particularly with their spicy batter. I was hoping for fresh cut fries but we got processed frozen fries that were not fried well. Now, I wasn't expecting the amazing french fries that you get at 5 Brothers on the south end, but getting frozen fries was disappointing. The mashed potatoes were also from a box and did not have much flavour.

With the macaroni and cheese I was expecting something like they have at KFC, but we got deep fried mac n cheese bites instead. Those were quite tasty and along with the courteous service, that bumped this rating to 2 stars.

I ended up coming to Chruchs after work for a quick bite since I had eaten here before through uber eats.

I should have stuck to uber eats, honestly.

The food itself is super good, minus a bit of soggy breading due to sitting here or there. The honey biscuits were divine as always, and the jalepeño bombers were fresh.

However, the customer service is actually terrible. Normally if you go through drive thru, you'd start it with the person saying "hi, welcome to insert place, what can we get you" or something. Nope. We got "hey". ...and nothing else. The rest of the ordering went downhill as I had to correct him on the order several times, despite going slowly and being clear. Especially ordering the dipping sauce. Instead of telling us "oh this sauce is currently out" we got "no".

Getting our drinks, I asked which one was which since my friend got coke, and I got nestea. They didn't answer me, and instead said "yeah the foods coming".

Thank God the food was delicious. I'll never go back to this church's...

Went on 12;30 pm height of lucnh houre. Very few cars in parking lot, no cars through drive-thru and empty restaurant. Ordered 3 piece combo. Only 4 onion rings pretty cheap although they were freshly made. At the height of lunch hour couldn't get3 pcs of regular chicken had to take two spicy pieces and a regular white piece. All pices were warm t0hey were stting under the lights for awhile. THe white chicken piece was so dry as to be unediblle. I lovr buscuits, however even with the honey the biscuit was tasteless ti should be ashamed to call itself a biscuit. The breading is differe t than I remember when Chuch's came in its first incarnatiion to the GTA more like Popeyes.

My first and last time in Church's I wll go Poeyes where the biscuits and are hot and have taste.
