Quality of the food here prior to start of Covid-19 used to be one of the best. My last two visits have been most disappointing. My last visit in 2023 I ate in the restaurant and was able to point out the Chicken Fried rice was burnt! It had a strong burnt flavour. They gave me a new serving rice to take home with me to resolve the issue. Sunday January 14, 2024, 7:45pm I visited again . I bought combo #10 - S&S Chicken Balls, Honey Garlic Ribs, Chicken Chow Mein, Chicken Fried Rice and Egg Roll. I arrived home 20 minutes later and ate half of it. I was most disappointed to see they had placed the Chick Chow Mein on top of the rice in the same section of the container for the rice! The container only had 3 sections so I guess they thought that was the appropriate way to pack it! So the rice absorbed what little juice the Chow Mein had and that was a turn off. The food was bland! I refrigerated the other half along with egg roll. The next day at 1pm I heated the remainder in a microwave - excluding the egg roll. Two hours later I started having symptoms of food poisoning! It took over 14+ hours for the food poisoning systems to pass - Upset stomach, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Stomach pain and cramps, Excessive gas, Fever, Headache. I contacted the restaurant and let them know about this experience and was told they could not refund me the cost of purchasing the combo plate, sorry about the Chow Mein being placed on top of the rice and the only thing they can do to resolve the issue experience is to offer me a couple free egg rolls on a return visit. I was told once the food leaves their premises they do not stand behind the quality of their food as they have no idea what happens to the food once it leaves...
Read moreTried here for lunch on a hot Thursday in July at about 11:45. Due to covid, there are two large tables for groups of six, and I think three tables for four people, and by the time we left, the place was full. Friendly and very attentive service from the lady working, and the food was fast. My friend and I over-estimated our appetite and ordered the Dinner for 3, with plans on taking leftovers home, but we could've easily gotten a Dinner for 2 and still had leftovers. The food itself is your standard Canadian/American 'Chinese' and nothing special about, but nothing wrong with it either. So if that's what you crave, this would probably do the trick. I didn't love the egg rolls as they are the type that has more of a brown paste inside, but again, that is the the normal for the majority of Chinese restaurants I've eaten at over the years. The chicken fried rice was standard, the sweet & sour chicken contained 12 balls and didn't have a ton of meat but was ok, the chicken chow mein was standard, the beef w broccoli was also average. $43.95 for a lot of food would make this worth while if you are very hungry, as mentioned. I doubt I'll end up back here anytime soon, but if someone wanted to go, I'd have absolutely no problem with it and would try some...
Read moreupdate - went back again...hit and miss with the cooks...again bad plus expensive ...done with bad $17 meals ....After going here for many years, perhaps more than 15 years, and have had decent food I was sad to have a bad experience. Had a combo - the place is expensive.. over $16 with tax. Beef in the beef and broccoli smelled off, sat on the toilet the next day many times. Guy ding terrible, too much soy sauce in the rice... overcooked eggroll left in the fryer too long.. I called to complain and they said they would give me a free egg roll... not good enough... pay $16 for a take out meal and get this garbage. I won't be going back... obviously hit and miss. I think the young guy was cooking that evening. if you go... ask who is cooking. When I called to discuss they kinda knew I was a long time customer and didn't care... didn't want to satisfy a long term client who ate there twice a month.... not smart. ...
