Oh, darlings, gather āround as I spin a tale of my recent escapade to a charming Italian cafĆ©, a hidden gem that graces the heart of Halifax like a rare jewel glistening amidst the rain-soaked streets. Picture this: a Saturday morning, draped in a shroud of soft gray clouds, where the heavens weep gently, and the world outside feels like a watercolor painting left to run.
Into this atmospheric embrace, I ventured, stepping into the cafĆ©ās warm embrace, where the air was thick with the intoxicating aroma of freshly ground coffeeāa sirenās call for the weary soul. I ordered a flat white, a concoction that is as elegant as a well-tailored suit, and oh, how it arrived! Like a delicate cloud floating atop a sea of rich espresso, it was a celebration of flavors, each sip a gentle whisper of warmth that danced upon my tongue like a sonnet composed in the key of caffeinated ecstasy.
And then, my darlings, there was the grilled cheese on focacciaāan ode to culinary artistry! This was no commonplace sandwich; it was a lavish tapestry of melted cheeses enveloped in the embrace of golden, crispy focaccia, each bite a rhapsody of textures and tastes that sang to my very soul. I savored each morsel, a glorious indulgence that made my heart flutter like a young loverās first kiss.
But I mustnāt neglect to mention the barista, a vision of rugged handsomeness that could make even the most tempestuous storm pause in awe. With every flick of his wrist and every flash of his charming smile, he crafted my coffee with a flair that could only be described as poetic. He was the quintessential muse, inspiring my heart to skip and my imagination to soarāan enchanting presence in an already enchanting setting.
So, dear friends, if you find yourself wandering through the enchanting streets of Halifax, do take a moment to indulge in this cafĆ©ās offerings. There, amidst the rain and the romance, you shall find not only a feast for your senses but perhaps even a dash of magic, courtesy of a certain dashing barista. Trust me, it is a rendezvous not to be missed! š§ļøāļøāØ

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere to start?! I ordered an espresso martini and the barista/ sales person says ā we donāt have itā even though I saw it on the website, then she asked the barista and they said they make it. $14 chicken sandwich & $12 espresso martini with taxes thatās $30 plus the $4 tip. Well it better be a great experience.
I find a table with dirty cup, neither customers nor the staff clear the tables after people are done, ugh. I had to take the cup to the station where there is milk, cream & sugar station for the beverages, not ideal but thereās nowhere else. I waited 20 minutes, while customers came after me got their orders and finished eating. I asked whatās going on with my order, then they realized they forgot it and started heating the sandwich & making the drink. Then I eventually got the espresso martini 30 minutes later. I told them to take it back and they apologized, offered a refund and a complimentary dessert ( declined to have the dessert). While my friend got the food, but they forgot mine :( It felt bad. They asked my friend if she got all the order, they donāt even know what people ordered.
Their excuse is that some staff members are being trained, well itās bad training and none existing supervision. The staff attire is jeans with not good greenish colour t-shirt. Fast food places have better professional attire. Nice attire such as aprons with shirts and good pants that matches the stupidly expensive prices and the beautiful Italian/European decorations.
Having marble tables is not going to cut it. Wonāt go there again unless it changes to the better :( disappointed. The other location at bishops landing is much better, because thereās no tables and no service. Ordered online a sandwich and iced coffee for $13 total from Timās went to the branch and got it in 6 minutes with a smile even though thereās a loooong line to the door. Thatās a top customer service,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOnly giving 2 stars because of great location and amazing cream puffs and mousse cake.
-1 star: the products don't have any labels, so you have no idea what you're looking at, including major ingredients and price. -1 star: when I asked the lady at the front why this is and if she could tell me what a specific cake was (the hazelnut mousse cake), she sighed and started listing all the products in the display in a slow and loud voice. When I tried to tell her I only wanted to know the one I pointed at, she just continued listing more loudly over me. -1 star: sadly, compared to the cakes, the croissants fell short of any expectation. I got a simple croissant and a pistachio one. They were either very old (even if we were told they were fresh) or the ingredients were of awful quality, likely the butter. They were hard and crumbled into pieces, which shouldn't happen.
All in all, I might go back occassionally just for a cream puff and a coffee, whose names I at least know, but no croissant or bread from...
