My 1st visit was to see their production of Disney's Frozen the musical. I was blown away by the calibre of their show. I've seen the actual original show on Broadway and the official US tour and the talent I saw at Neptune was as good and personally I preferred Neptune's cast. The sets and costumes were also wonderful. For Elisa's signature song the set here was more cohesive than the Broadway version which had Elsa standing on an empty stage with crystal backdrop for the whole song.
Noteworthy is that this was the Canadian premier of Frozen. Disney has never granted the rights in Canada before. It was also one of the first ever North American non-replica productions after the official US tour closed in fall of 2024.
The staff at the theatre were also lovely and ready to answer any questions and always had a smile.
I sat in the front row and another night back in row M and both had great views. I don't think there are any bad seats in the house.
As someone who doesn't drink a lot I really appreciate that they included a fun mocktail in their themed drinks for the show. It was delicious and I think I'll be making these at home now!
If you ever get a chance to see a show at Neptune, especially when they're doing a big musical, definitely...

Saw Rocky Horror Show in the last week before it closed. Kind of like Robin Williams in Aladdin or Barbra Streisand in funny girl (good luck Lea) it's almost impossible to live up to the performance of Tim Curry in the original. That being said our lead did an admirable job. The accent was a bit in and out though.
Anyhow, this show has such a strong first half and most of the memorable numbers come fast and furious in the first 20 minutes or so.
There were lots of surprises in the casting that's for sure - for me some of the choices were a bit too woke. However, the narrator, for example, was surprisingly strong for a relatively small role.
But let's face it, most people don't go to a performance of The Rocky Horror Show unless they're already invested.
The small, young and energetic cast mostly rose to the challenge. Since the book doesn't really have a discernible plot in the second act it's purely the enthusiasm of the performers that carries it.
Considering the intimate nature of the theater and the relatively inexpensive ticket price this was a good value.

Read moreI just had a conversation with someone who expressed there's no better entertainment bang-for-the-buck for then going to see a movie but we quickly corrected ourselves and agreed that the best entertainment bang-for-the-buck is live theater at Neptune.
World Class theater with a varied enough line up between the two stages so there's always something to catch your interest.
The purchase experience seems a little bit antiquated. You can buy your tickets online but you are required to have a printout ready. You can buy a parking pass with your ticket package but then you have to go pick it up ahead of time. I've done this once but I don't know why. You might as well just go right to the parking garage as you normally would, their offer saves no effort or expense.
If the event staff had a little more finesse and greater attention to service it would easily make this five star rating.
My only regret is not...
