I’ve come here for years. The food has always been good. BUT TODAY! Was an experience at that restaurant I’ll never forget Completely and utterly disgusting, unprofessional, and rude! Fiona of the store should not be working in customer service!! He is the man that’s a cartoon character in the picture I posted.
Myself and another customer placed our order today He ended up mixing up our orders, giving us each, each others sides. Instead of fixing our orders properly, I looked at the customer next to me, then looked back down at my plate. He proceeded to raise his voice and swear at me and ask why I was giving a look to the food. Well, probably because my order was wrong and I was confused on who’s plate it was…
The lovely Elderly lady that works at the cash, proceeded to tell him to stop as he was not only yelling at me but cursing all because I had “a look” to my face apparently when I looked at my food. God forbid if I looked at my food and it was the wrong order.
Making feel like I was put in fight and flight mode Being yelled at in a store front of people after all I’m a woman and don’t take well to grown men, hollering and cursing at me for no real reason While I’m standing there in my scrub uniform, just trying to get some lunch on my work break !!
I stood my ground and told him with everyone In that restaurant you do not speak or treat customers like this. I am a paying customer if I was to give him attitude, I would have expected it back but that was not the case you messed my order up and then give me grief because I don’t want someone else’s side dish with my food!!!
Mind you I never even complained, or said a word to him about my order being messed up I didn’t have time. I simply looked at the plate, looked at the person next to me and back at the plate and He just went off because I looked at my plate, “funny” in his eyes.
I can only imagine how he talks to his wife Or his daughtersat home if he talks to customers like this It was completely disgusting ignorant, and he should feel embarrassed, I would love to see the camera footage !!!!
I would not recommend his restaurant, no matter how good the food may be you don’t treat customers like this, especially customers who have been coming to you for years Mind you I’ve never had a problem with him or anything along those lines until today!!!

Read moreTried here in the late 90s or early 2000s and liked it a lot, but for no real reason hadn't been back until yesterday for lunch (July 2020). It's bigger and brighter inside than it used to be, with probably a dozen tables (half in use due to covid restrictions at the moment). Seems like there are a lot of regulars who come here, as many lined up while we ate. We arrived about 11:50 at the latest so were lucky to get a table. The place seems very popular for take-out though. When you walk in, the owner always offers a free small soup sample! I grabbed mine without listening too closely what it was (maybe a lentil something), and really enjoyed it, so if I had been in the mood for soup, would've ordered it. I came with a pita in mind so ordered the chicken schwarma (8.95) which is HUGE and very tasty, juicy and not too messy to eat. I didn't realize it was going to be so big, or wouldn't have ordered a side of linguini (an item I remembered loving all those years ago). Next time I must remember to be aware of the quantity. My friend got the 2-skewer chicken plate that comes with pita, two types of rice, a Mediterranean salad and dips. He found it very flavorful as well, decent quality, just overall satisfying. We will...
Read moreA friend and I traveled from New-Brunswick to Halifax for her to catch her flight back home. We looked up various place to eat that were not too expensive at and Tarek's Café came up.
When we entered, we were greeted by the people working there. We took a bit of time to decide what we wanted and they were patient. We took the chicken shawarma pita. About 25$ for both our meals. My friend asked if we could add a falafel each to try them and they were delicious. Halfway through the meal, I thanked him for letting us try his falafels, told him we traveled from NB (and Mexico). He brought us more.
The food was a 10/10, the kindness and appreciation we felt from this man and his staff was the best. I plan to go have another meal there next time I travel to Halifax as there is nothing better than finding a small restaurant that feels like you are part of a family, even if you just met.
To the man that gave us the falafels, I hope you see this review and know how we loved your...
