Burrito Jax — Restaurant in Halifax

This location needs to be cleaned up. It needs staff who can understand your order and stop making mistakes. We go often and love this local chain, but there is no supervision at the Kempt Rd. location. It should be cleaner than it is. The whole place. I think they are overwhelmed with online orders and delivery with only 2 employees working. The new take out bowls are awful they get soft very quickly,and are difficult to eat out of. And put your left overs in something else. The lids come off too easily and one of our last orders ended up on the floor, because of the flimsy bowl and lid. That was a huge waist of money and a wasted paid for meal. We love this place and the location, I hear the downtown place is completely different. Management is around and it's clean. There is potential for a lot of traffic on Kempt Rd with the Military base and not a lot is offered in the North end. The parking lot is terrible,with little space available and it's mostly curbed so finding the driveway to back out onto busy Kempt Rd is difficult. And when I ask for salsa I don't want to be given Pico. The burrito bowl sizes seem to be getting smaller, especially when you pay for Guac and they give you the tiniest amount. This was our first experience at burrito Jax. The atmosphere was not as clean as it could have been. Most of all, the burritos do not taste like burritos! We had the large pepper steak burritos ( which by the way you couldn't taste, feel, nor chew the steak, since it was so small you could just swallow like soup) and I tried to call and the machine was full so either alot of people complain or they just dont answer their messages and I don't even like to complain. However when you spend 30 bucks on 2 burritos that you would expect to have taste, but there was no taste of Mexican, muchless we could've went to taco bell and spent 85% less and got slammin' burritos....NEVER AGAIN! the cashier was nice and friendly but the ingredients were all, almost empty only one that was full was green pepper. I'm assuming many people don't eat at this establishment. I will be contacting the manager! Even my fiancé was disgusted. Burrito Jax (Kempt Road) used to be a go-to place for delivery. We've noticed declining quality over the last year or so, but until now they still usually delivered an acceptable meal.

Our most recent order, last night, was a disaster. Out of two (2) Burrito Bowls and two (2) Burritos: 3/4 were missing toppings (e.g. sour cream, smashed beans), 1/4 had burned rice and large bitter end chunks of lettuce (not shredded). 2/4 people barely ate their burrito bowl, while 2/4 folks had their order... not sit well.

1/4 of the meals were finished and satisfactory (albeit missing a topping), so I cannot rate 0 stars... but you can decide for yourself what level of satisfaction and taste you expect from where you order.

For our part, this will certainly be the last time we order from here.
