Fiddler’s Green — Restaurant in Kawartha Lakes

Omg where do I start. The owners have zero experience running a bar. I swear they opened this place just so they could drink and never have to pay their bar tab. They had an amazing manager running the show. But they let her go stating they did not have the money to pay for a manager. Then they illegally hired her replacement the next day. The new manager then proceeded to use favoritism to hire all of her close friends and their boyfriends. The bartender mason got a job with a completely fabricated resume and pushed the only person who actually knew how to make a Caesar off of her shift. They then fired said bartender for "lack of available work" and proceeded to illegally hire more of her friends all while lying to regular customers about the shift in bartenders. So basically this whole place is being ran by this one woman and her group of friends who all have such little experience from previous jobs due to he fact that they were so incompetent the managers would not give them any responsibilty. All it would take is one bad night at a party or one person sleeping around for this whole establishment to crumble. That is unless the government shuts them down first for all of the illegal proceedings I have mentioned. I for one keep coming back weekly to watch this place...

Food was good. Made a reservation for 30 people they only had 2 waitresses (one was the cook) but they did an amazing job. The problem was the after service. They called to tell me one of our party hadn't paid their bill. (The lady in background yelling that the bill wasnt f%#@ing paid was not necessary... especially seeing as all Bill's were paid and the one in question was paid ..with a credit card!!) Mistakes happen but no follow up apology was made. Very disappointed. Such a shame as it was a fun night up...

Food was delicious, great atmosphere. Was extremely put off by the staff though. The waitress speaking poorly about another local establishment in a highly inappropriate manner. Clearly she used to work there from what she was saying, but it was the wrong platform to air her opinions. It got so uncomfortable we had to leave. I won’t be back again. I came to enjoy a nice drink and music, not to hear trash talk about another business. I’ll be going to the other establishment...
