I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding an online order placed at your Kelowna location today, August 17, 2025. My son picked up the order, and unfortunately, the chicken we received, particularly our usual favorites, was surprisingly subtle and bland in taste, which was quite unexpected.
As loyal customers of your Vernon establishment, we consistently spend up to $60 weekly on various chicken types, including yangnyeom and soy garlic, and have always been thoroughly satisfied with the quality. It was our strong positive experience with the Vernon store that led us to anticipate a similar standard of delicious Korean chicken at your Kelowna branch, assuming a consistent quality across all Chico-Chicken locations.
Upon tasting the food, we were incredibly let down. When we contacted the Kelowna store to inquire about a refund or having the order remade, we were met with a complete absence of apology. Instead, the cashier boldly asserted that the same ingredients are used as in the Vernon shop, offering no resolution to our issue.
While the ingredients may indeed be identical, it is clear that the preparation and execution of the dishes at your Kelowna location resulted in a product that was significantly inferior to the authentic taste and quality we have come to expect and love from Chico-Chicken. Both the overall service we received and the disappointing quality of the food have left a very negative impression on us.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend your Kelowna location. It appears that the true, authentic taste of Chico-Chicken, in our experience, remains exclusively with your Vernon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLoved it! We decided to try their Korean chicken and got the boneless Soy Garlic and the Plain with YangYeom Sauce and Buldak to dip, as well as fries. Their chicken was crunchy and delicious. We all loved the Soy Garlic, it was similar to honey garlic but definitely not as sweet. The Plain, really had no flavour, so I would highly recommend getting sauce on it or getting some dips. We found both Buldak and YangYeom sauce way too hot for our liking. So if you really like spicy food, enjoy. Just glad we got it on the side instead of all over. My mom doesn't mind spicy and even she almost choked when she just took a drop to taste. So we ended up getting a side of Soy garlic sauce as well. Next time we will only order the Soy Garlic, we did love the flavour. The fries tasted very similar to Costco fries. Which we like, so they were good. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, just found some too spicy or not enough flavour. But the Soy Garlic totally made up for it. If you like spicy, you may love the sauces. We found everything done well, they were very friendly. Answered our questions. It was quite warm inside for dine in, didn't seem so at first, but the longer we were in there the warmer we felt. Hope they turn up the air conditioning a bit. Also, there were no bathrooms that we saw. Maybe there is ones that you have to get keys for and go somewhere else...seemed like someone was returning a key as we came in, but I can't be sure. So I would just note that there are no obvious bathrooms. All in all a good experience that we will do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI showed up at 5:01 they opened at 5:00. Apparently chicken takes 30-35 minutes here which seems to be a standard practice according to the sign at their order counter that says MINIMUM 20 minutes.
Now letās break this downā¦. In the 31 minutes Iāve sat in my car since being the first customer through the doors at 5:01 Iāve seen at least 15 customers walk out with their ordersā¦. Either Iām on an episode of MTV PUNKED or I smell like the forest fires from last summerā¦
I could order an fertilized egg at Buckerfields, incubate it in the spare air fryer, which my Mother in Law will probably buy me- WHEN I eventually get married, proceed to raise the chicken, sing 4 nursery rhymes to newly raised chicken, slaughter the chicken, clean the chicken, HIRE Tom Brady to throw my now-slaughtered chicken in a deep fryer all the way from New England to the deep fryer on my porch (which I donāt have), order chicken seasoning off of Alibaba- have the sauce stuck in the Suez Canal for 2 weeks⦠before I get my chicken from this placeā¦.
In summary? Iād pay double for a McDonaldās cheeseburger at this point.
Cheers but yo wonāt catch me coming here again, I just lost 41 minutes of my life writing the most accurate realistic review of my life. What on earth takes 41 minutes to throw some pre cut chicken in batter and into a...
