I was at Dakodas Friday night with a group of students from UBCO and as soon as I arrived and went near the bar, an employee very rudely told a group of us to move out of their way. Shortly after, another employee told us to move in the same manner. I don't mind being asked to move if, but I was never once asked, I was rudely told to move by some very clearly annoyed employees. May I remind you that you work in customer service, and many of us were purchasing drinks. I'm sure if we would have been an older crowd, we would not have been talked to so rudely. No matter who it is, customers should be treated with respect and talked to in a kind manner. On top of this, every other employee I encountered was cold and looked miserable. And when I asked for a water at the bar I was told that I had to wait while the bartender moved on to getting other's drinks first. I understand that I wasn't making a purchase at that moment, but it would have only taken a couple seconds of their time. I work at a winery, and I have never once told a customer that they have to wait until after I serve paying customers. You should not be working in customer service if you don't know how to treat people and put on a smile even when stressed, tired, or annoyed. I know what it is like to be swamped with customers in a small space, but I have never once been anything but kind, pleasant and respectful. And I have NEVER once told anyone to move out of my way. Totally unimpressed and I will...
Read moreWe've been going to Dakoda's for many years. Food used to be good. Last time I edited this review I said the quality went down. We decided to try it again since it was a new cook and thought after this length of time things might have gotten better. Well they didn't. All the food used to be fresh and good quality. After ordering take out tonight its clear much of the food now is ordered made and frozen and just reheated in the kitchen. Chicken fingers are super dry, tasteless and thin. Dakoda burger thickness is half what it was before, the quality of bun has gone down and couldn't even bother putting the pickle in the burger (it was tossed in the container). We also ordered a Quesadilla and the side sour cream and salsa was missing. We generally order the giant yorkshire pudding but we were told this was no longer available but that there was minis (this is under appetizers) which the menu says 5 and we got 4. The difference between these is the giant came with fresh mashed potatoes, cauliflower or broccoli (depending what was on hand) meat tender in it juices, crispy onions and a side of gravy. The minis is just bread with dry meat dunked in overly salty gravy to hide the lack of quality of the meat with onions and gravy. I'm so disappointed.. We love Dakoda's and supported them as our #1 takeout place during covid but as long as this cook is working there, we unfortunately won't...
Read moreWish I could add a photo to this review to show the menu and my receipt. My first time coming in for wing night with a group that comes here every Wednesday for the last 14 years. Finding parking was fun - not usually an issue on other days. I don’t eat wings so i asked for Cauli wings and they came back to let me know they ran out. Ok fine, I ordered chicken strips which were $15, they were fine.. no different from costco. Another server came up halfway through our meal and asked to have a chair that someone was sitting in? LOL We all got our bills at the end and almost every bill had an error. My friend ordered a blue Hawaii and was charged extra $1.00 for pineapple juice!!! That comes in the drink…no? Apparently not. I was charged $16.00 for my Costco fries and strips plus gst which was 80cents.. but the wing night menu said $15? whatever, there goes your tip. It was incredibly busy and the server was doing her best, it took about 15 minutes after ordering drinks to get anything and we had 2 kids at the table. I must say everyone loved their wings but it was my last time coming in after seeing the dishonesty through the bills… I assume they think everyone’s loaded and don’t look at their bills? Not sure. Don’t really care tbh… times are tough for everyone right now, gross to be passively taking from the people that keep you floating. WINGS is elite for...
