Laneway Canteen — Restaurant in Kelowna

I rarely write reviews, and I hate to leave a negative one but I felt I needed to for the sake of others to hopefully save you some money and disappointment.

My boyfriend and I tried the pollo asado and carnitas tacos and we only ate one bite of the carnitas taco because it was inedible. Way too salty and the seasoning is not at all what a carnitas taco should be. The pollo asado arrived completely cold. Extremely disappointing and for $8 a taco it felt like an absolute rip off for what you get. Drinks were expensive, a Corona was $10.

Honestly, we went here with very low expectations and we were still thoroughly disappointed. I will say, the service was prompt and friendly so that is what I give...

Decided to stop since we are locals and love new foodie experiences. Cleared some dishes off the bar to sit down and checked out the menus. Decided on two margaritas and some ahi tacos. Three guys behind the bar but we were patient. It becomes apparent they were not busy so my husband said, hey, can we order? Guy points at the sign that we missed that says "Order Here". You couldn't have pointed that out? We sat there for 10 mins! We ordered all right, from the rooftop patio at Craft. ...

Decent enough place in a sweet little half alley. I guess the potential is what is so disappointing about this place - it has the ability to be very cool, but is let down in all the little things.

The tacos are good - but abysmally small for 7$ a taco. 3 tacos and a margarita was 27$ and I left very hungry because there was almost no filling in them at all.

Margaritas are good - wait time is high.

Need to way up the quality and quantity here - nowhere close to worth it...
