We have been regulars since we moved to Kelowna in 2020…and we usually really enjoy ourselves..but in the last two to three months we’ve noticed it really go downhill. Last time I went, I asked for their chicken burger “a little bit on the crispier side” and had coleslaw on the side. The burger came out and was the colour of my espresso wood coffee table lol. I bit into it and it just crumbled into little pieces of charcoal. I opened it up to see if I could salvage the very centre but it was essentially petrified chicken jerky. The coleslaw tasted like cabbage soaked in milk. No flavour whatsoever. The waitress didn’t even ask why I didn’t eat my meal, she just took the plates and delivered our bill. I paid $20+ for a sandwich I couldn’t eat…I was so looking forward to a night of not having to cook, but…I came home and made myself some soup.
The time before that, we went for brunch, and the place was still filthy from the night before. They brought my mom unbuttered very well done toast with her brunch and when she asked for butter, they brought her a teaspoon of rock hard butter than was completely unusable.
We never complain, but, it’s getting to the point that it’ll be a long time before we end up back…which is unfortunate because we used to go about...
Read moreTLDR: rude waiter messed up and then got passive-aggressive for no reason.
July 20th, during an empty lunch, dine in.
A young male waiter named Carter informed the table that there was a gratuity charge automatically applied to larger groups, this is totally fine. We were all paying separately and needed the bill broken up.
After dinner, he comes up and starts passing out bills and machines. After everyone has already finished paying, he goes "oops I forgot the automatic gratuity, but I'm sure I deserved it." In an overtly rude tone.
Like moron we already paid under the assumption that there was an automatic gratuity.
THEN, he has the audacity to come back and rudely proclaim, "I'm sorry you didn't like the service," and left just as quickly.
As we were walking out, he stopped us holding a dime and goes "are you sure you didn't want your change?" And then proceeds to aggressively drop the change, making a loud clatter.
This young punk needs to understand that he is responsible for not getting the "tip" he wanted.
HE also got multiple 15% tips regardless as the group paid.
This young entitled "manager" needs to get a grip. And I will not be coming back to this establishment as this was unprofessional, especially if he is actually the manager...
Read moreGroup of 3 we got food and each had 3 drinks. Bill was 230 paid and tipped the waiter well and as soon as we paid the manager came to our table and told one person at our table was cut off. When I asked why she said actually you all are. There was no reason for this. No one was drunk or unruly we had 2-3 drinks each ate a meal and paid the bill. Funny how they didn’t cut us off before paying if that would have happened I would never have tipped the waiter. I will never walk into this place again. When I go to Kelowna this is one of the places we go. We have never been a problem have never been drunk in their establishments. This place for years have had issues with their management. The person we went to OJs with, lives in Kelowna and this was his local place until about a year ago when he and a bunch of other locals stopped going because of poor management. The current manager actually went out of her way to contact said person and tell him that their issues are in the past and she is the new manager. So we went, needless to say none of us will ever go there again and I will be hard pressed to ever enter another Ojs. Do not recommend...
