TLDR; I'm done editing based on new experiences. This is a three star joint. Some times my experience is great, and others it is absolutely trash. I want to rate this place higher, but some servers just don't know how to serve. I had to hail down someone to order food at a resturaunt. I'm not going to be pushing to get this place a good review anymore. 3 star is permanent now regardless of my experiences from here on out. There are a couple really good servers which keeps this place above water, and I am ecstatic to be served by them. But there are some that if I see working, I will just turn around and walk out.
This is affordable and good food. So I have continued to come here regardless of my prior experiences. I am glad I have. The service has started to pick up, the people are friendly, and they have a no tolerance policy on belligerent behavior. I witnessed an aggressive man being forced out of the store by the servers, and it was the most professional removal I have seen in a long time. Cudos to the front staff team.
I have had some great experiences in this place since my first visit, and I have adjusted my rating to accommodate that. It will need to keep up the quality and the pace to gain a 5* in the future, but it is definitely on the right track!
Music Levels: adequate. -The music is loud enough to drown out neighboring tables, while allowing for conversation at your own, albeit you need to speak a little louder.
Service: intermittant
Lighting: good there is a very soft feel to the lighting of the area, and when paired with the up beat music and a thick ale, it provides a relaxing atmosphere and allows a relatively easy wind down after a long day.
The crowd: pleasant when you go to a sports bar, the crowd you expect is of a certain echelon. The people acted and behaved fitting the environment. Some mildly rambunctious, though never interfering with others. Loud, but respectful, and frieny upon approaching.
Food: above adequate. the food itself is inexpensive, which is the only reason I would come back to this location. Chucks pricing is very low for the type of food you order. However, the price shows in the taste of the food. I ordered the Surf and Turf. A lobster steak dish. Any other place, you would be looking at 40$-50$ for the plate. This meal at chucks however is 28$. The steak meat, was a higher quality than anticipated, and only gently peppered, which allowed you to genuinely enjoy the flavor of the meat. Though it was under cooked from my requested state of medium-rare, that is likely in an attempt to avoid overcooking. The lobster was sour, though when extensively buttered, and lemon squeezed, it became palatable. The fries, which make or break most meals as the precursor, and palate cleanser, were surprisingly well done. The crisp of the outside layer was perfect, while maintaining a soft and warm center. The corn, was grilled properly with just the correct amount of char to add the feeling of barbecue, which was an enjoyable touch.
Edit### The waitress just noticed I had a nosebleed, and discreetly handed me additional napkins. This act of courtesy just deserved them a 4th star. Doing your job is one thing, but going out of your way is another.
Second Edit### This star was removed on my next visit because I have been sitting here for half an hour, and still have not been asked if I want food. I'm settling up here and heading to the one in Cambridge which is...
Read moreOK, so I went there last night for my birthday because I love chucks been there many times but last night was probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at any restaurant in my entire life so I ordered my food which was the buffalo chicken sandwich which is a breaded piece of chicken on a bun I wanted to try this, but I wanted no spicy sauce cause I don’t do spices I specifically asked is the sauce or is it inside the patty i they said no it’s a sauce that goes on. I’m like OK can I have it without the spicy sauce please? Can I have something else on the other than that so I decided on barbeque sauce when my food showed up, it was a grilled chicken sub not even on the sandwich, but it was a sub bun. I said excuse me, sir, but this is not what I ordered. He looks straight out in the face. Yeah it is. I went. No, it’s not. I ordered this and pointed to the menu with a picture is no that’s not what you ordered. I’m sure you ordered this i said no i ordered the other one I ordered the spicy one because member I asked for those spicy sauce. Well, that’s what you got then he walked away I told him excuse me this is not what I ordered. This is not what I’m eating it And at that point until he decided to try to argue with me saying I was wrong. I didn’t know what I ordered. Then he took it away and came back about 34 minutes later and goes well that was gonna take longer for your food to come out. I looked at my wife. My wife looked at me and also ate other people at a table. I was in absolute disgust. I run a landscape company for 38 years and I would never treat any of my clients the way I was treated yesterday at this restaurant. Was just despicable my son also had the ribs and Chicken combo his chicken was burnt. His ribs were burnt. He explained that to them. The guy looks and goes. That’s how they’re cooked and my son goes well. I don’t like my food burnt. Guess well that’s the way it is. The manager came over and said the same thing we have had that many times before and it was never burnt like that not gonna lie. My son wasn’t very polite to the gentleman afterwards when he told them that that’s the way it’s always been cooked. My son said no I’ve had it many times before and it’s never been like that. the guy said yeah it was at that point. My son said to him well maybe you should get cooked in the kitchen to learn how to cook higher people who know what they’re doing. My son got trouble for this attitude that he had because that in my opinion was not acceptable, but neither is a waiter telling you what you ordered when you didn’t order it it is absolutely despicable and disgusting mind you I will say the burger I did have when I find they came was delicious but they did put hot sauce on it and not barbeque sauce, lucky for me it wasn’t super spicy cause I don’t do spicy stuff at all, but I will say to chucks down by sports worl drive is amazing but now I’m really wishing I did go to Eastside Meadow so my birthday dinner like I always do. I only went to Chuck’s because I wanted to have their buckaroo dessert which I did not get as I was so upset. our bill was $145 all said and done my duty. They did take my sons ribs and chicken combo off the bill. Will not ever return here again and will be talking to corporate office...
Read moreI’m embarrassed I came to this establishment. I decided to come here for my birthday dinner, when I called the day before to request a reservation I was told it was on a first come first serve basis. Due to the snow storm I had a few people that weren’t able to come and ended up needing a table for 8. I showed up 20 minutes early and when I requested a table for 8 I was asked if I made a reservation. First minor issue as I was told it was first come first serve. They were able to seat us in a small room with a large table which was nice. Once everyone arrived we placed our orders (apps and mains). 2 main courses came out before any apps. Once confronted everything came out in an absolute mess. One couple got the spinach dip and ONLY 4 pieces of bread were on their plate (the menu says it comes with 12) then when asked the OWNER of the place said right to them “that’s normal they just cut them bigger”. What an unbelievable response from the OWNER. The waitress Kendra was very professional and apologetic and apologized on behalf of her and brought out more bread for them. The OWNER never came back to apologize or try to reconcile the issues we faced with missing sides, the chaos of the entrees and apps coming out at the wrong times. A manger had come to let us all know we would revive 5 dollars off each bill (4 bills at our table). The food was sub par, honestly not worth it as my meal was cold after I was able to eat it as they had so many issues getting stuff out I assume it sat for a while. Honestly the only saving grace was our waitress Kendra, she was very polite and professional and I would like to apologize for what she had to deal with. It shouldn’t have been her job to apologize and none of the mistake were hers. The owner did a horrendous job and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if this place closed its doors. Over priced for the food we received quantity and quality and terrible customer service...
