Harvey's — Restaurant in Kitchener

It is now the only Harvey's restaurant I patronage. The staff is friendly. Many from the pre-covid era. I always order something different and they are polite, provide accurate orders, I don't know their names but if we meet in a supermarket always a friendly greeting. If there is a spill at the soda fountain dispenser, tell the staff and it is cleaned immediately. The restaurant seating area and the washrooms are clean. Condiments like lettuce and tomatoes and onions are fresh. No brown spots. If you don't like that slice of tomato they will give you a different one. Everything is done for your dining experience to be one which is positive. Food is hot. If the fries are up early and cold when you get to your table, they are replaced with no questions. Because the staff appears to have a low turnover, they get along well, happily for the most part and it reflects on the service provided. I have seen them serve the most obnoxious customers with a smile and because it is open kitchen for lack of a better term, you don't hear them bitching about a customer even if they have reason. And the best part, order an Angus Burger you get one. They don't try to slip in a regular burger in it's place to pocket the difference in payment. Wish I could give negative stars! Horrible experience.was there today in the morning and ordered salad and milk. Was having work near the area so had to done it while eating and i asked them to increase the heating because it was very cold. Lady told me that its not in their hands. I was like okay no worries and then again I asked them to charge my laptop and phone if they have port there, ( they were having it near the washroom) still she said no we dont have it, i went after to charge the phone near washroom because it was necessary so she came there and rudely told me not to charge there because we are not allowed to. After sometime she came to me and told ne to leave the restaurant as they have policy that we have to leave after 2-3 hours of having a meal. I asked her that there is no such policy like that in other restaurants, she rudely said no we have customers now so you have to leave, but the whole restaurant was only having 3-4 other customers with a many empty tables. Was horrible. Brought my little sister and her best friend to Harvey’s tonight. I ordered her food for her and then she said “have a good day ma’am” to someone who she thought was a female. She’s also 16 years old. When we came around the corner to the window she had realized her mistake and wanted to apologize to him. Once we had approached the window the manger on shift had come flying at the window yelling and screaming and swearing at us telling us we miss gendered her employee to which my sister was going to apologize to but never received the chance because she just kept yelling at us and slammed the window in our face. We then tried to call them and the manger just kept hanging up on us and just being so rude over a 16 year old girl making a mistake. My sister genuinely wanted to apologize for her mistake. Not to mention this manger had informed us we are never aloud back at that location. I’m highly disappointed at the fact that this is how you allow your employees to speak to people.
