La Cage — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

Yesterday I had plans for my husbands birthday, but they had to be cancelled due to weather.

I frantically called around trying to find a restaurant. I found one around 1130am to host my party.

At 430 an hour before my party the restaurant called to cancel due to lack of staff.

Luckily for me, Cage Aux Sport at Place Bell was able to take my group of 30 within a half hour of calling!!!

The staff was amazing! When we all walked in they validated our parking so we wouldn’t have to pay when we exited. We had an entire section to ourselves. The waitresses were extremely timely and also made sure we downloaded the app to save on our bills. Our food was delicious. Drinks were plentiful! Jennifer was the hostess with the mostest. She made sure our popcorn bowls were never low. Plus made sure were comfortable at all times. For a restaurant to take on a party of 30 (12 kids and 18 adults) last minute is wonderful but to be treated so well on top of that was outstanding.

I highly recommend if you have a large group to reserve more than an hour before time, but even if you can’t they will do everything to do their best for you. I will definitely be going back with other groups...

You can change the name but those of us old enough know what we are getting into, I knew going in that this wouldn’t be fine cuisine. Plus the menus is way too large as anyone who watches Food or Flavour network knows. You cannot be great at something with this many options, only adaquate. Good beer selection( when they have them all in stock) I feel bad that the staff has to deal with serving such subpar food. Starting with the bad: Too much vinegar on the salad Too much salt on the popcorn and fries (ya I get it, entice with salt and trigger the thirst to buy more beer but there is a middle ground) Plus the oil the fries were made in was old oil. On the plus side: The jumbo screen is insanely brilliant! The Cowboy sandwich was not what I wanted but damn it was excellent! Highly recommend. Fish tacos, worked. The Club Sandwich pita/thin pizza crust was surprisingly generous and had the flavours locked down. Amazing value. Service was fast. The staff are wonderful! I visited here as it was my daughter's birthday and she chose this restaurant. Sigh I'm writing this review with an upset stomach. The food was not very good, I ordered some wings for our appetizer (After having to signal for the waitress who seemed to had forgotten about us), specifically ask for the regular ones as I absolutely can not eat spicy food and when I bit into the first wing the tears begun to flow as it was ridiculously hot and spicy. The waitress came and apologize and took them back said it was a mix up. OKAY!! I also ordered the steak fries plate which for some reason came out the same time as my appetizers which again was not supposed to happen. Anyways the fries where cold the steak was like chewing gum and none of the sauces given complimented the dishes.I really did not enjoy my dinner.
