La Piazza — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

Went to eat there after a dance competition that was held at the Sheraton convention center. Was Friday night around 8pm.

The good: The place was about 75% full (mostly people from the dance competition) and we were quickly greeted by a very nice host who warned us the service might be a bit long due to the competition. We had 2h to kill so we didn't mind waiting a bit. Service was actually rather quick. The ambiance was very nice with a live band playing nice smooth jazz covers and the overall feeling of the place is nice and cozy, the kind of place where you enjoy sipping on your drink and have a nice conversation at the table.

The bad: we were a party of 3. Orders were : salmon poke bowl, lasagna and chicken a la milanese.

The salmon poke bowl was good. Big chunks of smoked salmon on a bed of rice and julienned veggies.

The chicken milanese was mediocre. The chicken itself was pretty bland and it was served with papardelles that were undercooked (I like my pasta al dente but this was way undercooked) and no sauce or anything on the pasta (some pesto or something alike would have made the dish more interesting). For 30$ I would have expected better.

The lasagna was the absolute worst. It was clearly reheated and all 4 corners had microwave burns on the pasta. I had trouble cutting the pasta with a knife it was so hard. 26$...

I honestly dislike leaving bad reviews but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I went here for a friend’s birthday on Wednesday the restaurant wasn’t full so I was expecting a decent service. That’s not what we got at all. The entrees ( fried calamari) was reheated or something didn’t taste like anything without the sauces . Our drinks tasted more like water then juice ( we got mocktails). My friend’s pasta looked like a soupe and was super salty. The only decent thing that was the poke bol my other friend had and the steak on my plate put for the price i expected the potatoes and the veggies to taste good as well but unfortunately they were not up to par. They offered us bread they were as rocks we asked for a second batch and the mild were ice cold. The waiter never introduced himself and he seemed EXHAUSTED. I hope other customers have better...

We went for dinner on a Saturday night for a birthday with 30 plus guests9. We had the buffet option that also came with a main meal included. Unfortunately my baby was very fussy and me and my mom were busy taking care of them and did not have time to eat our main dish. When we asked to take it home we were told that they do not do this.
