Made a reservation for 20 people a few weeks ago. Called Sunday to confirm one more person, so 21 people at 6pm for Tuesday. Arrived on time. We did get a first drink each. Took over an hour to get second drink, even when a few of us asked. We were told it would take another 10 minutes for waitress to come to table, it took longer. That was the last time it was offered during our evening. We did ask more than once and waitress never came back. Other than taking our initial orders and delivering food we were completely ignored. Table full of empties, what a mess. No one ever came to clean our table. Plates were picked up but never any glasses and never any water refills. We had brought in a cake and those dishes were never picked up. Our time there took 3.5 hours. It took over an hour to get our bills. We had school aged children and 3 women in their eighties. They waited, we all waited over an hour for the bill. We could not understand why. One waitress said their machine was 30 years old and it would take awhile. I saw and watched other tables in restaurant get great prompt service. Their bills came in a timely matter. They did not wait over an hour for their bill. Their tables were cleared upon finishing their meal. We were blatantly ignored. To top off such a rude experience, the waitress hand wrote a 20% forced gratuity on every bill. We had no prompt service. That wasn't offered. Shady business. Very clear we were ignored as there was a guaranteed 20% tip from us, no matter what little service we got. They do not get the 20% guarantee from the smaller tables. Very disappointed with paliottis, our group certainly won't be back. We have had many of these gatherings at many different places and have not met such disregard for our dining experience.

The King Caesar Review is here! I am here to rate all the Caesar salads world wide … starting at my home in Vancouver. These rating will be heavily based on the Caesar salad it’s self, and not the other food I ordered. I have been eating Caesar salad’s for the past 20 years and thought it’s about time I get serious about these leafy greens covered in cream sauce. I hope your as excited as I am. Paliotti’s in Maple Ridge- only one other Italian restaurant to choose from Dressing: creamy base, with a nice lemon coating, heavy garlic (yum), fresh ground pepper and anchovies. Can’t believe I’m saying this but maybe too much sauce. Definitely tastes homemade though. Lettuce: romaine, cold and crisp, however cut too large Croutons: out of a package Cheese: questionable? Powdered parm on top but within the dressing a thicker heavier tasting cheese I couldn’t figure out. Bacon: none- which is honestly how I prefer my Caesar’s. Bacon seems to over power the sauce and texture (to me) I went to this restaurant after 8 years of my mom passing away with my girlfriend. My mom always ordered penne alla vodka. I was searching all over Maple Ridge and could not find it on the menu. This place seemed the most authentic and warm. We obviously has to order the Caesar salad, but I asked if they could do an alla vodka sauce but on my favourite… Gnocchi! Soooo tender, sauce missing pancetta but still very good and grateful I got to eat in my moms honour Overall, very authentic, great service and food came quick. There is a creepy table that you can’t site at with the Mona Lisa looking over you but that’s guna stop us from coming back.

Absolutely delicious pasta and such great, friendly service! We loved our experience here and will definitely be back. Roberta was our server, and she is a key employee who is really invested in the success of the restaurant. I had never met such a outgoing server before. She gave great recommendations, was funny and so bubbly. She told us ahead of time that all the pastas here are made fresh to order, so do not be surprised if it takes awhile. That part is true, but for such great pasta I would not mind waiting at all. They also give you a free italian bread and dip while you wait, the first batch is free which we really appreciated. Once again, it wasn't just plain bread but had a distinct and delicious taste to it. When our pasta arrived, we were very happy with it. For vegetarians, I would recommend the penne pagliacci. I really loved how they had so many options for vegetarians and had a section in the menu so it was veggie friendly :). Inside, the restaurant is very homely, warm and makes you feel like you're sitting somewhere in Italy. I can't believe such a wonderful restaurant was tucked away in Maple Ridge. I definitely recommend checking this out and ask for Roberta :) p.s also they have the best drinks.

Worst, and I mean THE worst service ever, hands down. This is going to be a long-winded one, but please bear with me.

The sign outside read, "Two Words: Air Conditioned." On one of the hottest days of the year (39 degrees), we were relieved to see that. Couldn't have been further from the truth, as soon as we walked in, the temp was warm. We had just been seated in the back (to a table I had reserved a month prior), and our party all remarked at the same time that it was pretty warm back there. My mom noticed the vent on the wall and asked me to feel if it was blowing cool air, but, in fact, was blowing out very HOT air. I went to tell the server that it was really hot in the back room area, and if there was another table we could sit at, as the front of the restaurant seemed a "bit" cooler, albeit still warm, and she looked at me and rolled her eyes!! I say to her, please come back and put your hand up to the vent and feel for yourself, and no word of a lie, she literally looked around and said there is no where else to sit. I said, "Well, Im not sure what's going on here, I made reservations a month ago (for a birthday) so Im not sure why we are being seated in the back room with a vent blowing hot air (my point being we didn't just roll in off the street and had to take what was available). The server again roller her eyes and said, "Everybody here has made reservations," and proceeded to point to every table. I then said, "Well, when I came in (in person) a month ago, whoever took my reservation commented to me that it was odd we were coming in and making a reservation for so far in advance and didn't even appear have a book to write it down in, and scribbled it on the bottom corner of a page (she even went so far as to "go ask" if it was okay). Feeling a bit wary, I made sure to follow up 2 weeks later to confirm. (Note, we had been really looking forward to trying out this Italian restaurant's menu as we are Italian and also being new to Maple Ridge). Ok, getting back to the story, I again invited the server to please come back to the room to feel the vent so she could understand my concern. In no way was I rude, mean, condescending. We then wait at the table for a good 10 minutes, she came back once in that time, put her hand up to the vent, then walked away, not saying a word. Then comes back (finally) to the table with water and said, "Well, did you decide if you're going to stay?" And, I say, "Well, you said there are no more tables, so where are we to go?" to which she said, "I meant stay in the restaurant, not this table, it seems like you aren't happy and you want to leave." Im like, "Wow, I never mentioned ONCE that I wanted to leave, I asked you to come back and please feel the vent and if therewas another table!" So, at this point, now Im starting to get irritated with her snotty attitude. She then proceeds to tell me that everyone has been "mean" to her today, and I had to interrupt her at that point and clarify, "I was not mean or rude at all! You were rude to me!" and I kind of put my hands up at that point in disbelief and kind of chuckled at the complete absurdity of how things had been so poorly handled by her and now progessed to this over a simple request, and she said, "You can sit there and stay and laugh, or you can leave" and walked away. Like seriously?! We tried to ask for a manager, no one came out, we went back (calmly) to the front area to ask again for a manager and was told he was busy cooking. At that point, we left. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly by a server. Im a foodie, I eat out a lot and ALWAYS support small, local restaurants, but I will NEVER EVER support this restaurant again (I had ordered takeout pizzas before). If this, Paliottis, is how you run your business and let your wait staff treat people (which I have seen MANY reviews, after the fact, about your service being horrible), then I just feel total regret for you. Word of mouth travels fast, and you definitely lost out on customers for life. Absolutely ridiculous experience...

We have visited the Paliotti’s in Abbotsford many times and loved it. So last night we thought we’d celebrate a 70 th BDay at the Maple Ridge location. Sorry to say we will never be back. It was a huge disappointment especially since we decided on that location and we live in Chilliwack where there is another location.

It wasn’t that busy in the restaurant but they were understaffed. The waiter was very attentive when we first got there. But that soon changed. We found out later he was also doing the bar tending. In all, our dinner was almost two hours by the time everything was sorted out.

Both times my daughter ordered a pina colada and it took over 20 minutes to get it. The water was never refilled and the soda was refilled an hour after getting the first one. The complementary bread never came. Despite asking two different staff three times in all.

But the most disappointing meal was a family member who is Vegan. We were pleased that there were Vegan options on the menu. But the presentation was not good. There were very little veggies in the pasta. But when it came there looked to be what we thought was cheese sprinkled on the top. The waiter came and we mentioned there was cheese on it. So it was brought back. After about 5 minutes the pasta was brought back to the table. But u could see they had just scraped off as much as they could. I tried looking for the waiter to inform him but it took more than 10 minutes to get the attention of another staff member. She then informed us it was cashew cheese which our regular waiter had no idea. But lucky for myself I had tasted some of it to see if it was cheese like we thought. I have a severe nut allergy. But lucky I didn’t have a reaction because we were not informed properly. The one waitress explained to me that the cook is not fond of Vegan dishes and therefore takes no pride in making them. That was very evident.

When making the reservation the day prior. We told the person it was a 70 th Birthday. After dinner we had to ask if there was complementary desert for the bday cause they had no idea

In all it was not what I had hoped for. The atmosphere compared to the one in Abbotsford is dreary and the staff are not as attentive or even as relaxed as we have found in the other...

My friend and I decided to tray this place based on their sign promoting steak or rib dinner the hostess was very friendly and seated us right away the waitress was also very friendly and took our order promptly I had the steak special and minestrone soup my friend ordered the steak special the soup was very good one of the better minestrone soups Ive had in a restaurant the steak on the other hand was very tough I could not chew it and barely cut thru it it was very grizzly and veiny the waitress came by to ask how the food was so I told her she was very apologetic and said she would have another made up I had maybe a couple of bites that I could chew thru on the first one the second one was even worse I stopped fighting with n it and when the waitress came back I told her my friend was also struggling with his and got about half of it down after cutting out n odds and end pieces the waitress apologized again I felt bad for her and told her it wasn't her fault she offered us free deserts , as I don't eat dessert due to sugar issues i declined and my friend also declined she brought the check and charged full amount for everything when I questioned it she said she would get someone after a few min this lady came out and immediately started in on me with a nasty attitude as if i was trying to pull one over on her I told her I didn't eat the steak it was sent back to the kitchen out of 3 steaks 2 and half were sent back she said again with a snarl this the bill I walk with a cane as I am disabled so I went to stand up to get my wallet out .she told the girl "take his picture . take his picture loud enough for the other guests to hear in order to embarrass me in front of the whole restaurant. They took my picture and disappeared I stood there for about 5 min waiting but no one showed up so I left

It really is disappointing to have to deal with someone like that when the rest of the staff was great . I would gladly have taken a discount and an apology for the bad steaks I would like the owner to contact me to make amends and I sure hope its not the same lady either way I would not go back there as a patron as i don't need that stress . I just wanted a nice...
