Overall highly recommend! They definitely know how to batter and fry. I recommend the omurice and pizzas.
Pros: Great vibes and aesthetics Very sweet customer service and lots of ways to reach them - email, chat, phone Reasonable prices for the quality - it's not cheap eats but it definitely feels like it was worth it Compared to other vegetarian/vegan restaurants I've tried, it doesn't seem like the plant-based food is a novelty but more something well thought out Many customizable options, everything can be adapted to be vegan (although there is no vegan egg so the omurice can only be changed to a salad of mixed greens) Very good! I was pleasantly surprised because I really enjoyed the imitation meats. The imitation beef in my pho tasted more like beancurd but I didn't mind, and it was fried very well. The fried chicken in curry with the omurice was battered and fried to a thin but crispy and dense layer - I really liked that. The imitation salmon sashimi doesn't have the same tender consistency of real salmon sashimi but I actually really enjoyed it (it feels like agar or konjac). The okonomiyaki pizza was so good, the crust was tender and crispy and the rest was very savoury. Decent portions, you will be full The craft beer selection was small but the two we got were quite nice, and the lychee mocktail was very sweet but it was still good
Cons: Pho noodles were all broken or cut up for some reason? Not a huge con I suppose but it changes the experience when it's more like eating spoonfuls of pieces of noodles rather than slurping long strands Small 'con' but I felt the fried sushi with imitation salmon was less sushi and more just a fried rice patty haha I suppose you can use the definition of sushi loosely though.
EDIT: I wrote this review like a month ago but I forgot to hit the Post button! Since then we have gotten takeout twice and it's so good. I recommend getting the specials for two or more people. The staff are so great and passionate. One of my favourite...

First of all, I’m unsure as to why “plant-based” is in the name of this restaurant, since most items on the menu are not plant based. I see that the owners/managers have responded to reviews, stating that plant based is not synonymous with vegan. Even if granting that perspective, is egg plant based? Whey protein? No. Several of their dishes contain these ingredients, though.
The menu online is different than the one in restaurant. Many items are marked vegan on the online menu but the restaurant menu shows otherwise (for example, the Thai spiced half chicken which, on the restaurant menu, states to have whey protein in the ingredients.
The items that we selected that were vegan or could be made vegan were mostly disappointing. The sashimi rice appetizer was decent but the fried rice portions were very greasy. The dan dan noodle soup, which was described as flavourful and spicy, was extremely bland and watery. It was not seasoned well and we couldn’t handle more than a few bites. The Peking duck pizza was decent (the dough was tasty and fresh) but the sauce overpowered the entire dish. The best item we had was the Sichuan imitation chicken, but even this couldn’t be enjoyed properly because it was so horribly greasy.
The customer service was also sorely lacking. Our server rushed us and wasn’t very kind or helpful when we asked for recommendations.
Overall, I would not recommend this place to vegans. I see that their omurice and katsu dishes are popular, so this place may be better suited to vegetarians. I think the name of the restaurant is misleading and vegans are better off avoiding this...
Read moreRecently ordered take out from this establishment. due to covid-19, we couldn't sit in so I cant say how it is in the interior. I do know it looks similar how to the restaurant Black Bear as this place acquired its location.
We ordered a variety of foods: Chickenless Katsu Curry Omurice Curry was very good, thick and full flavoured, the chickenless chicken was not too bad, it was a bit too tender for the feel of "chicken" but the crispy exterior masked a bit of the over softness of it. the egg was great and on point!
Okonomiyaki Meatless Burger w/ Fries The buger looked like a normal burger, taste and texture was almost identical to how real meat would be. fries were just normal fries found similar to costco. but overall the burger could of had more flavour and sauce. the starches sort of dried it out.
Buffalo Mushroom Wings (Vegan Friendly) They were nicely breaded, super juicy and very delicious! I would say this was one of the highlights of all the foods we purchased. Large size and reasonable amount of pieces given. very happy with these.
Buffalo Cauliflower Wings (Vegan Friendly) Also a very good choice to pick from. nicely breaded, large size, full flavoured and juicy. the dipping sauce that came with it also help add a slight kick of added taste!
Overall, this restaurant was satisfying. Good selection of foods available.. I would say some items could be worked on a bit better but...
