Grillies ( Highway 7 - Markham) — Restaurant in Markham

This location has a lot to improve on before it becomes a solid take out spot. It looks like the owners don't really have a good grasp on how to keep a steady flow or maintain consistency. I went for a visit around midnight and nearly all tables were filled.

There's no clear designation when you order, so the server just shouts what the order was, despite many people ordering very similar items. It's definitely understaffed for the amount of online and in person orders so nearly every person I saw during my 45 min wait for a $20 order, got something missing or wrong.

I had my deal of the day burger changed to a chicken burger, which tasted great, but isn't what I originally ordered. After just watching the workers for 30 mins, my friend and I made a bet to see if something would be wrong, and half the order was!

The entire cooking and seating area got so smoky and thick that when a group of new people came in to order, they visibly backed up and said "woah, you need this door propped open?" We left the store with all our clothes reeking of grease.

I dislike that the burger buns are just heated in a 4 slice toaster, and how the workers aren't following sanitary protocols as well as they should(speaking from someone who's worked in the food industry for 3 years). But honestly, many of these gripes can be fixed with more staff and a better ordering system. The vents definitely need to get an upgrade though.

But hey, food was delicious, and although it's not a "quick stop", I have hope that it will definitely improve. This four stars is a reflection of what I believe this spot can become, and to urge everyone to throw in their suggestions too. I'm for sure going to visit again for some...

I ordered delivery (listed below are the prices from DoorDash) from here on a day where my grocery order didn't arrive aka, this was specifically the location I chose to order from for a comfort meal. I'd definitely order again from here!

-[BACON CHEESE BURGER] $11.49 🍔 I always love a good burger especially if the patties aren't the standard ones found at fast food places 🍔 got this burger with all of my favorite toppings because this place really lets you pile them on: cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, black olives, pickles, relish, ancho chipotle mayo, ketchup, ranch 🍔 definitely a solid burger - enough for a full meal for me without anything else

-[LARGE CHEESE FRIES W/PORK] $15.49 🍟 cheese fries consisted of cheese, sour cream, mild salsa, chipotle sauce, and pulled pork because that's the protein I selected to accompany it 🙃 I will say, I expected this to have a lot more flavor considering its ingredients but it was pretty bland even with the pulled pork 🍟 not sure if this was just a one off bad day for this dish but I would be hesitant to order this again despite it being the dish I was most excited for

I'm obsessed with Grillies HWY 7! I've been to this location multiple times, and I'm always blown away by their exceptional service and mouth-watering menu options. Being open 24/7 is just the cherry on top - whether you're craving a late-night snack or an early morning breakfast, they're here for you!

The prices are super reasonable, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The veggie options are plentiful and delicious, and I always find something new to try. But what really sets them apart is the top-notch customer service. Muskan's bright smile and warm demeanor made my experience today truly unforgettable. She recommended the combo, which was a great value, and went above and beyond to accommodate my requests - no fuss, no muss! I appreciate that she didn't skimp on the toppings, and her enthusiasm is infectious.

The watermelon slush was a refreshing surprise, and I loved that it's freshly prepared. The cheese fries were amazing, and I was happy to discover they offer poutine (they specified that the broth has meat in it, Muskan kindly informed me!).

Overall, Grillies HWY 7 is my go-to spot for a quick, delicious meal that's made with care and attention. Muskan's service was exceptional, and I'm so grateful for her friendly and accommodating nature. Can't wait to come back and try more of their tasty menu items!
