They have two frozen lasagna servings. One is a smaller single serving coming in at around 8 dollars. The other is a family-sized portion coming in at around 22 dollars. A kid that worked there and prepared the lasagna vouched for its quality although La Rose, as an employer, could stand a brush-up in Ontario Labour Law considering half of Milton worked there. So I call to see if the single portion is available and a wonderful lady (very polite - there is your only star out of five) answered and took the time to check for me as it is always sold-out when I go looking for it. She confirmed that a few servings were available, I thanked her and reassured her that I'd be there in minutes as I live around the corner.
I head over there like a fool and naturally there are none. No help to be found anywhere unless I cut in line ahead of others, I head over to the espresso machine to find the geezer chatting up his retired Italian counterpart customers. So I ask him about the lasagna and he gives it an honest enough look. He tells me he'll head to the back and see what's going on.
I'm standing at the freezer waiting for his return, and I wait and I wait and I start to feel like the bum on the front cover of Jethro Tull "Aqualung". (Patrons, mostly female, began wondering why I was hanging around!) Some five minutes later, don't I recognize the espresso geezer's voice chatting-up the same three Italian septuagenarians! So I ask him what's going and he responds by telling me that he couldn't find the lasagna (okay...) And that he couldn't find me! (250-pound men wearing Ray-Ban Wayfarers are hard to spot in a small bakery it seems...) - I tell him I was standing in front of the freezer section the whole time and he launches into this phoney apologetic tirade. Shame on you La Rose Bakery for treating your patrons like fools.
Fire the espresso geezer and hire someone who gives a damn. You've more business than you deserve and the arrogance of some of your employees who feel comfortable with brushing-off your customers is as broad as daylight.
It is the internet age La Rose Bakery and this is your Google Review so remember the adage of "Sometimes you just have to play the role of the fool to fool the fool who thinks they are...
Read moreWorst service ever. I went to order a birthday cake. I was asked to go at the cash to select the theme that I want. The cashier let me pay then she said they got rid of the book and that she would give a plain white cake with nothing on it. I asked for a refund RIGHT AWAY at the cash. The cashier showed me an attitude and blamed me that I was suppose to ask her to show me the book first. I explained to her that her staff told me that she has the book with all the designs.
When I went home to check my online statement I found out, the cashier charged me 60 $ two times.Where she was suppose to make a refund for a 60$. When I called a few days after to explain to the cashier that she charged me 60$ two times, the cashier ( who named herself LAURA) said that she did a refund. And she kept insisting she did a refund. I kept explaining to her that I just looked at my online statement and it was showing a withdrawal of 60$ two times. I called my bank to open a report for this. The bank confirmed it was showing a withdrawal twice from the bakery. A few minutes later, the cashier who named herself LAURA said that she was mistaken and that I can come to get a refund of 120$.
I went to the store on Monday to get the refund. I asked for LAURA, I was told by a nice lady that they have no LAURA that works in the morning. And, LAURA is just a young girl who works part time. Then I saw the same cashier with the huge attitude walks by me. I told the nice lady that I have been speaking to her all the time and she left me a voice mail and she claimed her name was LAURA. I asked her why did you say your name was LAURA? She denied. I checked my VM twice and she did say her name was LAURA.
Finally, the lady who was calling herself Laura her real name is PATSIE.
Why would PATSIE call herself Laura unless she wants to put all the mistake and the blame on Laura's...
