BE CAREFUL OF TIP SCAM - SERVER TIPPED HERSELF WITHOUT ASKING

I went to Acer Sushi to get some food before my flight, there was a young east-Indian woman there being very pushy with the menu and offering to take orders. I found this quite odd because usually the restaurants around this airport are self-serve and you order/pay through yourself on the app. Anyway, she offered to take my order and I said why not? She took my order and then handed me an iPad to enter my credit card details (despite already telling her I wanted to pay debit, but whatever). Anyway, it takes me to the screen to enter my credit card details and which I thought was going to be the next screen for tip, it just said thanks for your payment and asking to enter details for receipt. I thought that was weird because I ordered from a restaurant earlier that had showed a screen with tip options (which I absolutely was going to tip, but there wasn't an option). Again, I didn't see the total until AFTER I paid. After I saw the total amount, I only realized after that it didn't add up. I only got two items and it seemed way more expensive that it should've been - and I know everything is inflated at the airport, but this seemed off. I went back on the self serve QR code myself to double check the prices then that's when I realized the server tipped herself the maximum 20% and only took me to the screen for payment afterwards. I was shocked and immediately called her out on this, at first she denied when I asked if she tipped herself, and then she said no it's automatic (I know that's a lie - I went to another restaurant earlier). Another server saw this and offered to help me request a refund through the app, he also said that the tip isn't guaranteed for a refund. I also spoke to the manager over the phone and she made excuses saying that this server was new, etc.

CHECK YOUR BILLS PEOPLE!! DONT LET THE SERVER TAKE YOUR ORDER, SHE WILL TIP HERSELF. - DO IT YOURSELF THROUGH THE APP - Or better yet,...

Everytime I transit in Toronto airport I order Unagi Rice Bowl from here. Today somehow they serve my bowl with sushi rice , super sour . Honestly wonder why . I have to go and complain and they switched it to the plain rice. Used the unagi I gave back and change the rice below .

The bowl used to served with kimchi. But they didn’t give me any until I asked .

About the service : it’s pretty much zero . After I ordered 10mins no one came and serve water. I walked up to the counter and asked for one. The cashier told me she will let my server know and bring them over . When my server bring the food over , there is no water I had to asked again .

It’s a very unpleasant experience. Genuinely hope the owner can see the review and...

In my opinion, 25$ for the eel bowl and 11$ for the tiramisu is pretty expensive considering the portion they served. The food was mediocre. The flavours from the kimchi was clashing with the flavours from the eel, they weren't complementing each other and I wasn't a big fan of this asian fusion dish. The service was fine. The counter waiters weren't exactly friendly and their voice seemed to be annoyed when you are asking them questions. Finally, the place had a lot of seats which is nice but it was quite noisy with all the intercoms calling for people to board their flights and with people screaming and babies crying in...

I had not read the reviews, but they seem to either be complaining about the ramen or that the soy sauce was too salty (???). I had the salmon dish fortunately, and I was surprised by the amount of sashimi I got for just 17.99 - much cheaper than the mains at most other places in the airport, when salmon sashimi is usually expensive. Salmon was good, rice not too bad, it came with the essentials (ginger, wasabi, soy sauce - the regular one, yes it's salty you are not supposed to pour all of it). And some funny looking shredded cucumber. I think it was one of the best values at the airport, ordering was easy, service fast.

Staff here are the worst in any airport in the world that I’ve ever been to: they sit at the side ages talking and giving each other massages before serving you; they barely make eye contact; they repeat the same thing louder if you ask any question; they gesture and point rather than speak to you; they walk off without giving you your items then tap their mates to serve you. No wonder people don’t tip them. Don’t drink or eat from here if there are other options folks, you’ve been warned! Visit was 27.10.22 21.30.
