Overall the food was okay; but what really made it bad was the awful taste left in our mouth from the server (Ana A 623). The whole table was visibly uncomfortable from her behaviour. There was plenty of seating left in the restaurant at the time and the host decided to sit us in the largest booth (which we did not request). Only one in our party was eating and drinking of three (which was decided after seeing the menu). Our group could have easily been placed at a smaller table if asked. Which we would have gladly done.
Once Ana A realized that only one from our party was ordering she made a very rude comment “Should have sat you at a table for one then”. It was said in a very disrespectful undertone and ultimately we did not decide to sit there.
For starters: We did not request the 5/6 person booth. There were smaller tables available. Secondly, we were only planning to stay for a short period 25 min to grab a quick bit to eat before the flight. Thirdly, there were ample tables available and a very small line outside the restaurant (which everyone waiting was seated very quickly) Fourthly, She then proceeded to give us foul looks throughout the entire dinner service And finally, she did not check on us to see how the food was and was absent during service. It ruined the entire dinner experience for the three of us.
Needless to say, I will not be returning anytime soon while going through Pearson, which I...
Read moreI got in at 8:30 am and the host sat me at a table. She was annoyed when I asked to move to a table near the wall so I can charge my phone. Male server came after a few minutes, pointed his finger at me while asking if I want a drink. Must be in his culture to point a finger while talking to someone but whatever. He brought my order and went to watch TV at the bar. The couple next to me followed up on an order which has taken so long and he responded in a raised voice that it’s coming. Anyway, I asked for the bill when he cleared the table, no response, came back and punched the amount in the machine and dropped it in the far side of the table instead of handing it to me. I never felt so good punching “no tip” on the debit machine.
To the owner or manager of Boccone at Pearson Airport, this particular male server of East Indian heritage is in the wrong job. He’s rude, tries to be intimidating and has no manners. I do not discriminate but I wanted to point out who this server is. There’s another East Indian server who works later in the afternoon, and he’s totally the opposite of this guy I’m talking about. I experienced this on January 12th, 2018 at 8:30 am; check your time cards and see who I’m...
Read moreI had an incredibly frustrating and unacceptable experience at this restaurant in Pearson Airport. I attempted to use a WestJet travel voucher, which had already been accepted at another restaurant just steps away. However, when I tried to use it here, the manager refused, falsely claiming that "Air Canada policy" prevents vouchers from being used for alcohol.
Let me be clear: This was a WestJet voucher, not Air Canada. The manager either had no idea what they were talking about or deliberately lied to avoid honoring the voucher. When I pointed out the obvious error, rather than taking responsibility or verifying their own policy, they told me to call WestJet myself—an astonishingly unprofessional move for a business that operates in an international airport.
This kind of misinformation and blatant deflection of responsibility is unacceptable, especially at a location that caters to travelers who rely on clear and consistent service. Either the management is completely incompetent, or they intentionally make up policies to avoid accepting airline vouchers.
If you’re traveling through Pearson, avoid this place. They clearly don’t respect their customers or their own obligations as an...
