Unfortunately I had a negative experience as a walk-in customer. This review is specific to their "available for purchase" cakes and pastries. I have not had their made-to -order cakes.
I called the store to see if they had either black Forrest or strawberry shortcake available and if they were made with fresh cream opposed to butter cream. The lady checked and confirmed yes. Since they close at 6 and i made the all around 5:15, i made my way through rush hour traffic on Eglinton to get there. I made it to the store and a very pleasant lady served me. I asked for the black Forrest cake. She showed it to me.. It has a sheen and smoothness that you don't see with fresh whipping cream. I asked again if the cake was made with fresh cream.. She assured me it was. I asked for the small and they had individual cakes and pastries and mouse cakes also so i purchased about 12-15 of those as a back up to the cake. Once home, we opened the cake and tried the icing from a corner to check. This was NO anywhere close to fresh cream not even butter cream. It was a completely synthetic tasting covering. It was inedible. We then started to put the back up pastries on the platter. ALL OF THEM were extremely stale to the touch. the cake parts were hard and dry ad the mouse parts were the consistency of marshmellow split in half ( tacky inside). We had to throw all out and make a run to Longos for back up.
My advise to the owners - if you don't have lots of walk in customers - do not offer products off the shelf. Do not sell stale and borderline spoiled products. It will leave your walk in customers with a negative impression and they will not consider you as a vendor...

The thing is that they forgot to write his name. On the cake was written only ââHappy Birthdayââ and I was improvising with a piece of paper later on. It was such a shame and disappointment. Need to say that I have repeated his name two times to the person over the phone while I was ordering⌠The second thing was the person who was doing the delivery. He had called me on the phone when he was in front of my house saying that he is here. I was like okay, Iâm coming in a minute. He asked me why I need a minute, and he said that he needs to do two more deliveries until the end of the day. Also, my cake was placed on the carâs floor at the front where the passengers feet should be. Such an unprofessional guy. Cleanliness and sanitation on a zero level. We are talking about food for the god sake. He didnât even open the carâs door to give me the cake. I needed to do that by myself and to close it after. He didnât even bother to come outside and to give me the cake. I needed to take it by myself. Such an awkward experience to remember. Two stars only because their cakes are still delicious. But donât buy small pieces (Iâm talking about the things on display at the store). I was giving them chances couple of times before, but they are never fresh. From the other hand, we are constantly ordering cakes from them and they are always delicious.    Read moreI ordered my wedding cake from them. It was supposed to be delivered to our venue before we even got there. When I arrived, the wedding cake was not there. I called La Sem and they said they don't have the order. After about an hour of being placed on a continuous hold and having to call back and forth, they finally located the order. They made the cake and delivered it to the venue (which was close by) within a few hours. However, when I called management the following week to complain, I was completely disrespected. I wasn't allowed to speak with the manager, only the manager's wife. She completely down-played the situation and didn't take me seriously. They said the best they can do is give me store credit, after being very clear that I will never shop there again, she finally agreed to give me some money back. When she told me to come in the following day to meet with the manager, he was not in the store. There was a 'break' in the communication and she happened to tell the employee working there something else. They caused me a great amount of stress on my wedding day and refused to acknowledge their mistake. The management is terribly unprofessional, and I will never recommend...
