This place serves halal meat, which is great, but why restrict other options?

The name of the eatery does not infer likewise. Totally perplexed when I called in to place an order that included a portion of pork curry. I was told that they made it. The owner rejects my order, giving me the most bizzare reason for not including regular canadian meat or pork on their daily menu. That there is no "cross-contamination" with the halal meat dishes, nor is there any mixing of the pots, pans and cutlery used for the pork dishes?? Go figure that!

Ironically, in Kerala or in India, malayalees display diversity there and cultivated no diet restrictions, but choose to "contaminate" it here in Canada. Pork, beef along with other meats are offered in Kerela without any known issues. What's wrong with Canadian meat produce? Tommy adds "the supplier offers halal meat cheap". Question is, does the supplier run this business too? Not everyone has religious compulsions to eat sacrificial meat, but taking for granted that all customers will consume irrespective, even if they check for signs, is unacceptable business ethics too. Customer preferences vary and should be honoured and respected when it represents Kerela. Take care of business, don't drive customers out! Shop around for a supplier that will match your customers needs and not...

I ordered food from Taste of Malayalees for my daughter’s 1st birthday party and I was very impressed by their delivery and food quality. They delivered the food on time, packed everything securely, and provided all the necessary utensils. The food was delicious, fresh, and authentic. They had a variety of dishes to suit everyone’s taste buds, such as chicken 65, fish pakora, onion vada, appam, beef stew, veg pulao, chicken roast, Gobi Manchurian, veg korma, and fruit salad. The guests loved the food and complimented me on my choice of delivery service. The quantity of the food was very generous, and the pricing was affordable. It was totally worth it! I also want to give a special thanks to Chef Jayesh Chetan for his amazing culinary skills. He made the food look and taste fantastic! I would highly recommend Taste of Malayalees to anyone looking for a convenient and tasty delivered food service for any occasion. They made my daughter’s 1st birthday party a memorable and enjoyable one. Thank you, Taste of Malayalees! You...

This review is only for the Vishu Special sadhya take out I purchased on April 15, 2023. Otherwise I have been an avid shopper at Taste Of Malayalees and have felt almost all of their dishes "feel like home". On the said day I purchased 3 take out sadhyas. Somehow I felt the Vishu Sadhya was a thattikkootu and to pin point a few salient points that could be corrected: The 'matta' rice was less than half cooked thus choking every "urula" I took. Next was parippu that felt like boiled moong dal without any spice or coconut flavour. The merchant was kind enough to load the order with beetroot pachadi and parippu and conveniently giving less quantity of sambar, avial. The olan looked a suspension of van payaru and coconut milk. The long beans upperi was half cooked and devoid of any salt. All this for $ 18.99 plus tax. I could go on and on but shall cut shot with my resolution. NO MORE TAKE OUT SADHYAS in future. If anyone who purchased the vishu sadhya on April 15,...

This place was really great! Pretty friendly staff and very tasty food. They have such a large selection of curries and vegetable dishes plus lots of grocery items to create and reproduce the same home. I will say it’s not the most flavourful or big bold spices used like you might get from scratch at home or from other restaurants in the GTA, but for south Indian cuisine this is definitely the best place within a 5 km range. Definitely worth checking out and getting a few items for takeout. I will also say that they were not really observing social distancing practises and for such a tiny store there was at least 25 people in there which is terribly unacceptable. I won’t risk going back until the lockdown is finished but I would get delivery from them. Hi

Original, Tasty, High Quality takeout and groceries. This is a Malayali (not Malaysian) grocery store and kitchen. They sell south Indian groceries (specializing in Keralan groceries) and have a kitchen that serves hot take out. Curries, biriyanis, various meat dishes, parotas, and snacks. They are differentiated from other Indian takeouts in that they specialize in Kerala dishes. Beef fry, chilli sardines, coconut curry fish, etc. Check out the pictures below. Staff here are extremely friendly and patient. The food is always of high quality and consistent between visits. The grocery section has interesting items not found in most other grocery stores like frozen mini parotas.

Taste of Malayalees in Mississauga is a go-to spot for Keralites looking for essential groceries, Kerala snacks, and quick take-out meals like biryanis and curries. The grocery section and the take-out restaurant are combined in one large hall, so while the selection is limited compared to larger stores, it covers most basic needs. It’s one of the smaller Kerala grocery stores in the GTA, but the variety of authentic snacks available is impressive. The food selection at the take-out counter is decent and convenient. Overall, a handy and reliable place for a quick taste of Kerala.
