Attention: attended and had food from buffet yesterday (Dec 23, just after noon). There were roaches running across the buffet. Me and another lady who had yet to eat with her family noticed. I asked to speak to the manager. The young lady and her family joined me and we showed the manager, Kacen, where the roaches were. He smashed the hot plates down into their holder and more came out. One at me. It landed on the floor. He crushed that one. My boyfriend and I, and the girl and her parents tried to talk to manager for 20 min. I felt so sick as we had been eating food there, and it was on a return to area I saw roaches. Both of our families asked to speak to Head Office. 1 week - no call from Mandarin.

I will be reporting to Public Health.- update.

The Mandarin is more concerned about all the money they could make around Christmas than their customers health.

I have eaten at their chain for 30+ yrs. Never will return. The manager was so incompetent.

Still no follow up from Mandarin Head Office 6 days later!!!

Only wish I had video of the manager stamping on roaches by the buffet. ......

Mandarin, in response your response, YOUR MANAGER HAS MY INFO AND THE OTHER CUSTOMER'S. IT HAS BEEN A WEEK!!! YOU CALL US, we should not have to email you. btw, tried 3x yesterday to call your head office- it disconnects after the beep. As the largest dine in Chinese restaurant chain in Ontario, your lack of care for what may be your the week of 2024 and still asking me and others to continue to reach out TO YOU is appalling. You are lucky we never yelled "roaches" or went to the media.

Still waiting for YOUR SENIOR MANAGEMENT to call me and the other customer.

The holidays- after what I saw, and LACK OF CARE from the Mandarin, I haven't been able to eat at any resaurant since. Still feel sick we ate off plates in that area, let...

Disappointing Experience on a Special Night We visited Mandarin Dundas to celebrate my husband’s birthday, but unfortunately, our evening was completely derailed by poor service from our server named Jenny.

From the start, she seemed uninterested and inattentive. Giving attitude as if she was forced to work at the restaurant. We had to repeat our drink order twice. Not once did she come in to check the food or if we wanted more drinks, had to call other servers to help with additional drinks. I specifically requested for a birthday serenade. This lady came in tossed the muffin on the table with no birthday song or anything even though someone else on another table got the exact same birthday experience we were looking for and couldn’t help but ask why ours had to be different? I’ve never met anyone so rude, condescending, and unprofessional in my life. Everything we asked for she grumbled about, she even asked us to serenade ourselves. Spoke to the manager to get answers as to why my husbands day was ruined by someone with a terrible attitude and all I got was you should have told me earlier. Never offered to look into the issue, Instead, we were met with indifference.

What was meant to be a special evening turned into a frustrating experience. Birthdays are supposed to feel a little more special, but the lack of professionalism and attention to detail from our server left us disappointed and upset.

Terrible Terrible service! Sadly, we won’t be returning and they have lost a...

Always a treat at the Mandarin. Decided to do a late weekday lunch with my wife and really enjoyed the quieter atmosphere. Pretty quiet on Thursday at 130pm but lots of time to enjoy each of our favorites before buffet shutdown at 3pm. No line ups at food stations. Always enjoy the Hot n Sour soup. Sushi including sashimi was ample to choose from. Prime rib, a little well-done, but still good (with all the sides, onion rings, fries, corn, roast potatoes). Grill meats, including grilled shrimp, as much as you wanted. Noodles, fried rice, chili green beans, stir fry, deep fried chicken wings, torpedo shrimp, honey garlic ribs, BBQ ribs, spring and egg rolls, and too many Asian specialties to mention. Cold salad, seafood salads, potato salad, peel n eat shrimp, fresh mussels are all my favorites. I'm not a dessert person, but the Gelato and ice cream choices were ample for my satisfaction. Very reasonable beer prices and great service by our waiter Chris was only topped by the fresh cotton candy machine for my wife on the way out. Mandarin is always a treat and today was just another satisfying experience. You'll always find more than enough to satisfy your tastebuds (and eat more than you expected. 😆. BTW, that's my plate, notice that there's nothing...

I visited Mandarin on its 45th anniversary and endured a 4.5-hour wait to secure a seat among approximately 1000 others. Despite the free meal and lengthy wait, my review remains unbiased. Mandarin maintains consistency across its buffet offerings with a wide variety, though nothing stands out as exceptional or disappointing. While you won't find any favorites, there's a lot to appreciate, including over 30 different hot protein items like sweet and sour pork, General Tso's chicken, fried shrimp, roast beef, dumplings, and mussels. The salad bar and dessert selection are extensive, catering to diverse tastes. As a discerning critic, I value service and customer focus, which Mandarin excels in. Despite a full house, the servers efficiently managed to change my plates promptly whenever I returned. They are remarkably friendly and attentive, clearly motivated by customer satisfaction and feedback. The weekend lunch price of $29.99 is quite reasonable at the moment. Mandarin evokes nostalgia with its wide array of classic American Chinese dishes, fostering smiles and cheer among families and children. Everyone I observed at the restaurant seemed genuinely joyful, which is priceless. I highly recommend this location for its overall experience.

Hark! Good gentles and ladies and enby fair, I doth bring thee tidings of Mandarin, that grand establishment of feasting, located in the fair village of Dundas, Mississauga. Verily, they celebrateth their 45th year with such pomp and grandeur, it would maketh a king’s banquet seem but a pauper’s repast. Lo, upon entering this hallowed hall of plenty, one is greeted with a service so splendid, ’tis as if the very angels descended to attend to thy every whim. The waitstaff, with manners most gracious, dost flutter about like merry sprites, ensuring thy goblet is never dry and thy plate ever laden. The victuals! Oh, the victuals! An all-you-can-eat buffet fit for the most gluttonous of lords. There be meats and sweets, and delicacies rare, enough to fill a dragon’s maw. Indeed, one might find oneself in such a state of overindulgence, one could swear their doublet might burst at the seams. I tell thee, this place is a treasure, a veritable cornucopia of culinary delight. So, if thou seekest a feast of epic proportions, with service to rival that of royal courts, hie thee to Mandarin in Dundas, Mississauga. Thou shalt leave with a belly full and a heart light, though perhaps a belt notch looser.
