Food taste good but portion is too small. The large pho is smaller than other pho places but what I didn’t like the most about this place is they mandatory charge 15% tip when you have a party of five people or larger. my family said we should sit separately next time (restaurants shouldn’t make its Customer to feel this way), I will tip well if the service is great but isn’t mandatory percentage of tip against the point of tipping? I work in services industry too but I never expect my clients HAVE TO tip me a certain percentage. It’s weird to ask that in Canada. I’ve been to a fair share of restaurants but rarely hear this kind of rules. (There is one restaurant in Mississauga where they do this if you sit in a private room instead of a table in the hall, and they tell you in advance before you sit in the private room) and I have no problem with tipping 15% because you do get kind of a special treatment, but I mean this restaurant we sat at a table really close to the door. It was just a normal table nothing special about it. Also, they didn’t mention it when we came in as a party of five, They only said you have to tip 15% when they brought the bill. We did it even though we don’t think they deserve 15% because we didn’t want to make a scene
Also, the server’s English is so poor that we can barely understand her and when I called, she couldn’t understand what I’m asking over the phone even when I repeat myself like three times. (I personally think I spoke clearly enough over the phone, and when one of us who’s a native speaker asked for cold water, she couldn’t understand and that was in person) don’t get me wrong, I’m first generation immigrate too and don’t call me being racist bc I can’t be racist towards my own race, but coming from a person who also works in service industry. If your language skills is so low, how can you serve the customers properly? I have immigrants and international students who work for me as well but at least I have to train them to speak enough English about our profession to serve the customers in our workplace, so sadly I think the servers here are so poorly trained...
Read moreYike! The food was ok. Don’t get the calamari, it’s over cooked… someone ordered a chicken and rice dish to be spicy and was nowhere near mildly spicy. I ordered the flat egg noodles, but they passed off another dish as the one I ordered. Or maybe the cook doesn’t know the dishes well??? We waited for what seemed like an eternity to get our food, even though the staff was eager to close up on time at 9pm, which is weird for a restaurant on Valentine’s Day. We kept having to remind our waitress that food was missing. There was a waitress (with blue in her hair) who was serving other tables that seemed to know more about what was going on then our own waitress. I could tell she was trying her best to service her customers and tables that were not hers. She was the best part of the experience. There was a desert that was ordered, never came, but appeared on the bill??? Then we were presented with a single bill for multiple parties (large group)… What??? Should that not have been communicated during the time of making reservations??? To tell your customers (large group) after they’ve eaten that everything is on one bill is not right. And they were reluctant to separate the bill. But after a bit of huffing, trying to convince us we should just have 1 bill and dirty looks by our waitress, they finally charged each group (family). The service by the way is one of the worst. I felt like I was inconveniencing the waitress even though the group waited a long time for food. Will not go here again and certainly...
Read moreLooking for a new Thai go to establishment that serves tasty, reasonable price, and customer service oriented.
I came across this Bamboo Legend on tik tok and read the reviews on google and decided lets try it.
Ordered the red curry vegetable, cashew nut chicken, and original pad thai. We started with shrimp crackers.
The shrimp crackers appetizer was tasty and the homemade peanut sauce was good. I would recommend that the peanut sauce be room temperature as it was something out of the fridge and was quite cold.
The red curry vegetable was tasty, and plentiful. It had lots of veggies and the curry was plentiful enough to soak your rice. The Red curry did taste different than most of the other thai restaurants as I felt the coconut base was not strong enough.
The cashew nut chicken was average. It was acceptable however it had too much sauce that was a cross between thai spicy sweet sauce and tamarind. We did not pack any to go.
The location was accessible, the inside of the restaurant was very clean and nicely done. The service was fast...
