Took my friend for her Birthday last night and it was a huge disappointment. To start, the waitress was extremely rude. When we asked for a water so my friend could take her medication, the waitress snapped at her saying she was the only one working there. It was busy so why didn't management schedule more staff? There's better ways to respond to a customer asking for a water, that was not a good start. Then when she brought my orders she gave my friend a wierd look, she also didn't bring my friends order. Then someone else brought my friends order(thought she said she was working alone?).
Food was a disappointment. I go to the D Spot on Queensway regularly, and was hoping to show my friend how good it is, but wow did this location fail. It made the Queensway location look like a Michelin Star restaurant. The menu was extremely limited compared to the other location. My crepe was rubbery, and put together completely sloppy. The fudge sauce was not melted like its supposed to be and instead was stiff in a plastic cup like someone had just plopped it in there, and had to be scraped out in globs with a knife to put on the crepe. There was less ice cream in my crepe than I'm given at the Queensway location. I usually finish my crepes at the other location but this was so bad I couldnt be bothered to. My friend was also not impressed with her cake slice. We were completely forgotten after we got our food although the waitress kept giving my friend dirty looks when she passed by. This experience was a complete let down and my friend was crying because she didn't know why the waitress had it out for her. I've never been more disappointed. We should have known, since we asked some girls that were leaving how their Poutine was and they told us they were disappointed. This place should not have the D Spot brand name attached to it. Should call it the F Spot, for the absolute fail of...
Read moreWe were very disappointed after we placed our 5 orders with the waitress, then she came back telling us they didn't have Belgium white chocolate ice cream, we asked her why and she said the menu had changed, if the menu had changed we should have been told when we ordered. 3 out of our 5 ordered wanted Belgium white chocolate ice cream, but now my next best ice cream I would eat is Pistachio ice cream and she said it's going to be more money, I only came to have my favorite Belgium ice cream and if you don't have it and you made us all ordered then you yell us the menu had changed, you shouldn't charge us for the replacement! After another 5 min, another waitress came out and said they don't have another item and asked for my son to choose something else, at this point, i feel like walking out. The same girl came to the table beside us checking and asking how they enjoyed their desert and not one single sole came to our table. But when they came with the bill all smiling and yet she is also confused about what answer to give about not having Belgium white chocolate icecream, so disappointing. First of I wouldn't give any tips for not knowing your menu, secondly you have not provided the service, and lastly I dont need to pay you tips because you insisted charging us more money for the replacement ice cream after we spend all the time ordering and not having a second item making us mak3 another change. This comes down to very poor management and the fact that you are missing this and that, you should close the store. I would never go back there again, Belgium whit3 chocolate is the main ingredient for my visit, it's also the r3ason I dont go to...
Read moreThis place had so much potential to be good but it was a truly a let down. We tried both the food and the dessert. The food wasn’t good. I ordered the veggie poutine which was okay, but my friend ordered the steak and Brie sandwich which was HORRID. Cold meat on a cold bun and a BLOCK of cold Brie cheese. Like literally the size of a brick. It wasn’t melted, it seems like it was taken out of the fridge and placed on the bun directly. The Oat milk latte was about half an espresso shot and a bucket of oat milk. It could definitely be so much tastier if they added more coffee to it. I had the pistachio dark chocolate croffle. It wasn’t bad but it was cold when it came out. Same with the strawberry cream cheese pancakes my friend ordered. Which were so thin (they used to be ALOT fluffier and thicker) and could almost pass for a crepe. Our night ended with our server giving us a pen with our receipt to divide the bill ourselves. Keep in mind if it was busy this wouldn’t have mattered, but the place was pretty dead this night. Also a side note, a different server kept coming to our table every 20 minutes or so to ask if we needed anything else (it really felt like he wanted us to leave) I don’t see why as we ordered ALOT of food and the place wasn’t busy.. maybe because we mentioned the sandwich was cold ??? They also didn’t take that well and didn’t want to take the sandwich back, but he did in the end after we asked if he could ask the supervisor or manager if we could change it for a crispy chicken sandwich instead. The vibes were overall not the best. The servers might have been having a bad day but it still reflected poorly on the...
