The ahi tuna poke bowl I savored today was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece—a vibrant symphony of flavors and textures that danced across the palate with every bite. At its heart was the tuna itself, marvelously fresh and expertly sliced into tender, jewel-like cubes that melted in the mouth, delivering a subtle oceanic sweetness that anchored the dish. The supporting cast of ingredients elevated this bowl to an art form. A spicy-sour kick from a zesty chili-lime dressing teased the taste buds, cutting through the richness of the tuna with a bright, tangy edge. Then came a whisper of tangerine sweetness that softened the heat and added a layer of complexity. Each bite was a balancing act of bold and delicate, fiery and soothing. Texture played a starring role as well. Crispy elements—maybe tempura flakes or toasted sesame seeds—crunched satisfyingly against the velvety tuna, while thinly sliced carrots brought a gentle snap, their earthy sweetness mingling with the mix. Tender beans, possibly edamame, offered a soft, nutty contrast, rounding out the experience with a grounded, wholesome bite. Visually, it was a stunner—vibrant oranges, greens, and reds arranged with an artist’s eye, the tuna glistening like a centerpiece gem. This wasn’t just a meal; it was a sensory journey, a one-of-a-kind creation that left me both satisfied and eager for the next encounter. If poke can be poetry, this bowl was a...
Read moreThis place was a bit of a mixed bag for us... So I'll cover the "good," and then the "bad."
We decided to try out this place after seeing an ad for 50% off their menu for their opening week.
We bought take out for our Saturday dinner for 3 people. We got 4 different burritos, and 2 different poke bowls.
The good: The food was very tasty. All of the dishes we tried were prepared very well, and were very interesting fusions.
The bad: There was very little protein in both the burritos, as well as the poke bowls.
The poke bowls were also mostly lettuce and salad. Kind of disappointing...
And I know that inflation is making things more expensive, but the total for our 6 items would have been over $100 without the 50% discount.
I don't feel like the food was worth it for that price.
We were still glad to have tried this place, but likely won't be returning for reasons listed above.

Update Jan 13th 2023
Friday the 13th....no joke here...LOL !!! I am back for some more and this time around I tried their Unagi Tacos and the Ahi Tuna Bowl and a Salmon Bowl for my wife. The service is quick and efficient. I have been to their location at Courtenay Park. The service is equally helpful and attentive here. I did not see any selection of sushi 🍱 options here. But that is fine.
The food here is fantastic and fun. The flavour profiles are on point and you can amp it up with some wasabi.
The tacos 🌮 are awesome as well.
Drop in and give them a try and then let us all know what your thoughts are.
Happy...
