Panera Bread — Restaurant in Mississauga

Ok lets start with the good. The location in heartland town center is new, right beside crumble cookie. It is fairly clean and has decent seating.

We were there on Sat evening. It wasn't busy at all. We decided to dine in. We ordered the french onion soup, warm caprese salad, grilled cheese and creamy tomato soup. We also ordered fountain beverages. Approx. $38.00 for the meal.

Both soups were good. The caprese sandwhich was good. The grilled cheese was disgusting. They also serve you a piece of french baguette with your soup. For a place that prides itself on fresh bread, this bread felt like it was three days old. Hard, almost impossible to tear, and really not good at all.

The grilled cheese. Do not order it. Disgusting would be the understatement of the year. Its toast with melted processed cheese. Not even any attempt to put real cheese or even offer the option. Save your money on this one it is disgusting.

While we were getting our fountain beverages one of the staff members was cleaning the surrounding areas, not wearing gloves. She had with her a container of the fountain juice. She was clearly going to fill up the fountain juice container. Here is where it goes horribly wrong. She reaches into the juice container that dispenses the juice with her bare hands and proceeds to fidget and adjust the juice dispenser nozzle from the inside. She then proceeds to pick up the juice container and pour the juice into the container.

We were disgusted that this is the level of cleanliness that they display in front of customers. We will never come back. If this goes on in the front of the house where customers are in plain view, who knows what goes on with the preparation of the food.

It is a nice location, maybe an isolated incident, but unlikely to...

Just when you thought things couldnt get worse on a grey rainy day. Went as a group of four got a table and decided to order hot sandwiches..sorry the panini press is broken so only cold sandwiches available. Why wasn't a notice put up so people didn't need to wait in line? So, much as I dont like to order soups, i am now forced to have soup as it's the only other hot meal option. Pay for it and take our seats awaiting buzzer to ring. 10 mins later we are called to pick order. Two get their soup and two of us with chicken wild rice soup dont! We are told we would have to wait for it...which we ready to do until majestically we are told not to wait as it will take a full 2 HOURS for the soup to be ready!!!! Really! Couldnt service counter inform front end not to accept orders if the soup had run out? Is there no communication? Informed the Manager of these lapses and she apologised. Then heard her ask the serving staff why soup cauldrons were empty...his response was a classic..I DONT KNOW! Is this for real? You dont know that the food you are serving has gone to empty? Would you know if your car ran on empty? I guess not. Finished our meal...had a previous coupon for free drink. Asked them if they had ginger chai...no they didn't but had ginger peach tea. I opted for chai tea latte. Gave her the number to apply coupon for free drink. After punching in all data it turns out I can only get the ginger peach tea free but late has to be charged....just cancel my order. I would rather be out in the cold wet weather. Never again. I been to this Location many times. I find staff and management crew very friendly and welcoming. Every time I go theres someone who welcomes me with smile eventhough they are helping other customers. Oh yes they always have my favorite lemon and water in house. The staff is good at helping customers decide their meals. The staff and management never get upset even when they get really annoying customers 5 stars for that.There buzzer and table system is great. Though during rush hour new customers may find that cashiers are rushing the customers and not answering their valid questions. However their soups feel just like Tim hortons where they just dump the soup mix and add water then they dont check the consistency of product. I dont find any reason to spend more money here. As theres no quality standard maintained. However I will never recomend this place for your coffe. Maybe if ok if you like to drink drip coffe and dont really care how your coffe should taste. I have ordered mocha , late cappuccino few times. I found it's like dumping flat milk in espresso. Unlike a late or mocha suppose to have steamed milk which is forthy and creamy texture. Should remain the same till the drink ends. I have tried explaining that to management how other places steam the milk for coffe. But non of them offered to fix my drink.
