This place is run / owned by the same family that started Pak Sweets on Dundas Street in Mississauga. So if you're familiar with Pak Sweets, you probably already have a pretty good idea of what to expect. If not, I guess keep reading.
This place has good samosas in both chicken (2 for $1) and veggie (3 for $1) variety. You may feel they're slightly overpriced if you're used to the Brampton prices. They're often sold out of samosas on busy weekends or even towards the end of the day so you may want to call ahead to ensure they have what you're looking for. What that means is you're pretty much guaranteed fresh samosas made on the same day. Samosas are about average size, neither too big nor too small.
Mithai is also very good and I think sold at a reasonable price ($6.99/lb as of August 2016). Having said that, they don't have all of the variety you may expect but what's available is of good taste. Keep in mind, if you want one of the fancier boxes, they'll charge you extra.
Service could definitely use some improvement! The ladies behind the counter seem to have an attitude problem, bordering on rude. They often just yell or shout 'NEXT' rather than asking 'May I help the next...' or something along those lines. Since it's a take-out only, I guess customers put up with their lousy service and snobby attitude.
Look forward to seeing how long they're able to maintain good taste and decent prices. One of the reasons their original business (Pak Sweets) went down the drain was because they started compromising on ingredients while at the same time jacking up prices, which led to poor taste and eventually customer defection. This is probably why they decided to go with a new name and not go with the same name because clearly, the "Pak Sweets" name had tarnished reputation.
So my 4 star rating is based purely on taste and freshness and not the customer service. If anything changes, I'm sure I'll come back and update...

Read morePlaced an order for 1:30 the day before using a name. Called at 1pm to confirm order using the name and order specifics and was told yeah yeah your order is ready. Come at 1:30 - employees tell me what order? Donât apologize. Show me ripped notebook papers asking if this is my order. I show them my phone and ask if the number I called is theirs, they say yes it is.
I repeat order several times. They avoid eye contact, zero apologizes (same time lots of apologies to other male customers choosing sweets). So rude to me as Iâm a women who was prepared, but the customers who walk in get all the sweet words and care.
They told me I should have asked the persons name on the phone when I called. And I told them it doesnât matter because I called their company number and confirmed the order a second time and they said itâs ready. And then they said that the front is not associated with the people in the back making samosas. And I was like, so you donât trust your employees and youâre selling samosas from the back but youâre saying youâre not the same company? But Iâm ordering from you. They just Focused on the other customers, kept running out of my view.
One ridiculous rude excuse after another. Simply say you are sorry and tell me when my order is ready. Itâs not that complicated. Also if your orders are contingent on who is picking up the phone then say your names when you pick up the phone. Donât play a game with no freaking rules.
Iâm never going back. Thereâs plenty of sweet shops with actual respect and...
