Smoke's Poutinerie Mississauga — Restaurant in Mississauga

I was introduced to Smokes Poutinerie for the first time and it was probably the best poutine I've ever had. I ordered the traditional snack size with bacon on top. However, the reason for the 1 star rating is because of the experience I had while I was there. It was around 3am on saturday night early Sunday morning. I walked in and saw that the place was busy for 3am. There was someone in line in front of us that took a very long time ordering but then realized the the girl at the cash after taking their order, was having a personal conversation with the people in line and making people wait. By then, there was 2 other people waiting in line behind me as well. So at this point I've waited 15min just to order food because the girl decided to have personal conversations which almost seemed like she was flirting with the customer. By the time she decided to take our order, I was a but uneasy. However I kept my cool and ordered the food. When I decided to pay, she advised me that they had no change. My bill was roughly $31 and some change and gave her $40. She started counting nickels and dimes to give me back change. Then I decided to pay by card because I didn't want the change. To make things worse, this girl was all by herself at 3am at the store working the cash AND making the food. By the time we were done ordering. She had to fulfill/make 5 orders before even taking any orders from another 5 people in line by this time. I'm not sure who's running this place and what's happening here; but they are understaffed. The girl was in this place all by herself. There were 3 drunk guys playing music inside the place, this girl was taking orders and making the food. And on top of everything had no change. I'm was very disappointed in the way this girl was being used at this store. I wouldn't be surprised if she quit after that night to be honest. This place has really good food and I would definitely go back. However they really need to figure out a way to run this place properly. The girl working inside was not safe whatsoever at those hours of the night working all by herself. She must of been 17 or 18 years old at most. Terrible experience right from the start. Having a place open till 4am on friday and saturday and having absolutely no staff in the heart of mississauga where the only other option is McDonalds, this place got really busy because the food is good. Not only was this girl doing cash and making the orders, she still had skip the dish and or uber orders to fulfill as well. Someone really needs to do something about the work environment here. Knowing that this girl was alone in the store, she still thought it was okay to carry personal conversations with someone in line while the place was busy. Very dissapointed first with the bad and rude service by the cashier girl we just came back from there we went on August 13 at 7pm, we ordered 2 meal poutines well first of all she did not serve enough cheese on the poutines very little cheese on it and the fries were very burn and hard not good quality at all, and when I made the claim and ask she refused to fix I asked her to call the manager she said manager was not there. I wanted to leave and return those meals but I had already paid and she did not want to return my money. Also when the cashier charged me for the order before above unconfortable moment she had given me the option to grab the drink with the meal, then once the meal was ready she gave me the drink with the meal and after when I went back to her to claim for the bad and poor quality of the poutines she meant to said she was already very nice because she gave me the drink before I paid she meant to say I had not paid for the coke this which really offend me and my family because I had already prepaid for everything before the order was ready. I asked her to please check the cameras I even told her I can show her the charge on my debit card, then she reliazed I was right. I don´t know why she forgot that but this was too much for me, it is unaceptable to have a doubt on the customer specially when we were right, so she did not change or fix our meals and also was putting wrong allegations, very bad person behind the counter she should not be working there. DON´T COME TO THIS PLACE BETTER TO GO TO OTHER PLACE, NEVER THIS ONE, POOR QUALITY AND VERY POOR AND RUDE SERVICE. If you want a really good poutine go to Montreal, I would not even have make any reviews if at least the person did not treat me like this, she was very rude. This was suppost to be a special moment, I was inviting my brother in law his last night before going back to his country, and we all have the worst experience unfortunatelly AS I SAID MAYBE IF THE QUALITY WAS BAD BUT THE PERSON WAS KIND AND TRY HER BEST I WOULD NOT EVEN MENTION NOTHING HERE AND LET...

Trust me I have good taste, just do NOT order from here. Very low-end for a poutine-only place. They only have 2 portion sizes, regular (great size), and wow wize (way too big, just a mess). Let's break it down:

Fries: Taste like dirt, eat one by itself, see what I mean. Low Quality.

Gravy: Decent, but they never add enough, xtra gravy is expensive.

Cheese: Not melted, not fresh, not enough (there's like 2/3 amount of a McDonalds poutine and the portion size is double). Xtra cheese or ANY topping for that matter is very expensive for no reason, we're talking average of 2.5 bucks per topping even for a green.

Green/Spring Onion: Huge Chunks not even mixed into the poutine.... even an idiot knows to use smaller sliced green onion not huge chunks that over-take the flavor completely.

Price: 3x more expensive than a fast food chain and 3x worse, too.

Sauces: 1 star for the Korean BBQ Sauce (too spicy, though) and a couple others, but that's not apart of their poutine anyway.

Toppings: Awful, these guys are a poutine place, they should have better than salty, unhealthy DELI meat products, add rotisserie chicken strips, add proper toppings!

Overall Poutine: Not made correctly, workers paid min. wage, don't know what they're doing. Gravy goes on TOP of the poutine, gravy should be adequate, and gravy should melt EVERYTHING.
