Updated: Their online customer service reached out to me and resolved the problem pretty quick.
I came back here a few time and their service was so much better compare to when the incident happened (please refer to the story below). Food is still a bit bland and cold compared to other locations. Overall their service is very good now.
Giving this place 2 stars is pretty much me being generous!
Been gone to different Captain's Boil, from downtown to Vaughan and this is so far the worst one.
It wasn't busy at all but the hostess told us the wait would be 30 to 45 minutes. After asking her why we have to wait that long when there are so many empty tables (that haven't been cleaned at that time), we finally got seated us in the semi-private room.
After seating we were told that our server just left and someone else will be with us in a minute. That minute became 10 minutes, the hostess came in and asked if our server was here. NO LADY! WE'VE BEEN SITTING HERE, MAKING EYE CONTACTS WITH ALL THE SERVERS, EVEN WAVED AT THEM! At least the server that served our table was pretty friendly.
The food came slow! As slow as their services. The sauce was little to nothing, too much oil compare to other ones. Shrimps are also smaller than others'. After bringing us the food, the server didn't come back to check on us.
And the bill approximately took another 20 minutes to come.
Another server came in to fill the water for us while waiting for the bill. We and the table next to us complained about the service. He said because it's busy and the private room is supposed for reservation only, so we would normally have no table at all( with a very rude tone). EXCUSE ME?! WE ARE NO CHARITY! We are here to pay for the food quality and the good service. We don't ask for anything free. More importantly, we weren't being rude at all to any of the servers! So that attitude was unnecessary!
I've never been this frustrated before. The owner should invest not only in the decor and the space but also the food quality and the...
Read moreCame to Capt Boil and met my sister. My sister had initially told the crew that another family is coming so we asked to be seated on either table beside my sister. Both vacant. We were refused. The staff said we had to sit at the other end of the restaurant due to server ability but the area was already very filled and busy. But few minutes in this argument about being seated, a couple had already come and sat on the same side where we had requested to seat. How they could sit others immediately yet refused our group in the same area is beyond reason. We were told this is restaurant policy. I do not see how the staff or the restaurant policy is not to sit a party together or even the next table. The staff went to ask her peer (or mgr) and returned to finally sit us. She could have provided us the menu so we could start ordering and not sit there waiting and wondering if we are welcome at the restaurant and watching her serve two more tables then talked to another server looking and pointing at our table discussing our party. But maybe that was not her job or that it was not her area of service or that is the so-called “restaurant policy.”
I know there’s restaurants guidelines on sitting guests or balancing the servers but there’s also something called accommodating families or parties who come to your restaurant because it’s a family favourite, a tradition we observe or a special occasion we come for. And easily it was ruined because the timing we arrived didn’t fit into your “restaurant policy.”
Shoutout to AMBER who served us after this hullabaloo and made this very unwelcoming and disappointing experience to little more pleasant so at the least we could satisfy our supposed Captain’s Boil craving and the family reunion we were supposed to have. Much of it ruined by your restaurant’s sitting policy.
If we could eventually be seated, be served and be treated well (by Amber) then what sitting policy do you have that cannot be bent by some common sense and little...
Read moreWas craving crab and seafood fried rice, being 5months pregnant and mother's day. Ordered my food through their online plate form "chow now" at 5:30pm, Told me my food would be ready for 7:00pm...went there for 7:00pm surprise surprise food is not ready! It's mother's day wait is longer. Waited almost another hour, Finally got my food, went home ready to eat my food and my snow crab legs is still frozen, my seafood fried rice and chicken strip with fries for my 2yrs is cold. Tried calling back the location but they turned off their phone. Finally got through to someone right before closing and spoke to Anne. Told her about the food and she said her manager will contact me either that same night or the next day. No one called me, I had to call back to inquire. Spoke to a young girl who was pretty much laughing at the situation and told me to bring back the food and they will replace it. I explained to her that I cannot come back until maybe Wednesday, she said that's fine, bring back the food as soon as you can.
Bringing back the food on Wednesday, Anne calls me to notify me that I cannot return the food because I didn't bring it back on Monday. She can offer to give me a seafood fried rice back and 15% off my food order. So I am to pay for food again that I couldn't eat in the first place and they won't give me back my money!
BEWARE -I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FROM HERE. THEY WILL SERVE YOU UNDERCOOKED FOOD AND THEIR EMPLOYEE'S LIE AND THEY WILL JUST...
