I looked at some of the reviews before going here and none of them really answered my questions so here's a review that hopefully covers a lot of important points.
First thing is that this place looked great! The rooms were a good size, the couches were comfortable, the lighting was really good and I loved the general appearance of the place.
Secondly, there was a button to call for service right inside the room and whenever we pressed it we got very fast service! I ordered regular and sweet potato fries as well as a classic black tea bubble tea and they were all delicious!
Some of the others in my party got other food items (I think lobster balls and chicken strips or something?) and they didn't like them as much, but I'm gonna be honest I didn't go there to have a meal as much as I did to have fun doing karaoke, and they definitely delivered on that front.
The price was very reasonable. We got a small room on a Saturday night for our group of 7 and the minimum spending was 150$ (you buy food and drinks equal to 150$ or more and the room is free) and we ended up spending about 30$/person by the end which is very reasonable for hours of fun on a Saturday night!
The system to pick and play songs had a lot of good functions, like making it easy to change the volume, pitch of the song, pause it, add or remove the actual vocals of the song (this was very helpful as we could add the main vocals back in when we forgot how a song actually went, then take them off and go from there).
My biggest and only issue is that it was incredibly difficult and sometimes impossible to work the search function effectively. I tried searching for many songs and no results showed up, but then while manually scrolling through the entire list of songs I would see the songs I had previously searched for! I found some results by putting the first letter of the song and searching through all of those for the one I was looking for, but then if I put in more letters sometimes the results would disappear. For example searching for 'teardrops on my guitar' you could type in 't' and find it amongst all the 't' results but searching for 'teardrops' it wouldn't show up, and the same thing happened with many other songs too. It was admittedly very frustrating at times.
Overall though it was a fun time and...
Read moreOverpriced food and limited selection of songs. Went with a group of 10 people during Saturday night, which we were informed there is a $300 minimum spend for the private karaoke rooms (excluding taxes).
From the menu, the drinks were extremely expensive and they were 4 times or 5 times the retail price. I understand businesses need to make money, but charging $38 for a soju ($10 at LCBO) and for the absolute vodka was $150 ($30 at LCBO) is just ridiculous. I’m pretty sure the alcoholic drinks they make are watered down and don’t accurately represent the alcohol content. I understand they are an establishment and need to make money, but this place is far more expensive than other karaoke places.
The foods, such as the noodles were instant noodles upcharged at ~$15 per bowl. I wouldn’t reccomend getting any food here to be honest, just because of the ridiculous cost.
The music selection was limited, and featured mostly older music. The search function on the karaoke didn’t work properly and the TV screen resolution was very bad; it was difficult to read the lyrics.
The service wasn’t bad, until we mentioned it was my friend’s birthday, which they said they provide a free drink to celebrate. We ended up waiting 3+ hours for the drink.
At night time, the area reeked of cigarettes, which I’m not sure whether people were smoking inside the rooms or because there were a bunch of people smoking right outside of the entrance and the smoke drifted in.
The rooms were decently clean, there weren’t any visible litter and the washrooms were clean.
Overall, wouldn’t go again due to the ridiculous upcharge, however if you are looking to blow money this is a great...
Read moreReserved a room for 25 people and received confirmation 3 times over the phone that it would be okay. I also received confirmation over the phone multiple times that I could pay with American Express.
When the day came for the party we were put in a room for 15-20 people. The room was tight and small for our party and it was also dirty. The tables and walls were sticky from God knows what and required cleaning. Once we started our party they had to have cleaners come in during and try to clean the room because it was gross and unprepared. Despite this you can visibly hope dirty the walls were. The mic’s also weren’t ready and had no batteries.
Upon arriving i also asked the staff one more time if they were sure this room could fit 25 people and they dismissed me. The room did not fit the party and when we requested for more seats we were denied. The service was awful and dismissive. Even when ordering drinks and food they were not paying attention, bringing us the wrong orders.
Our party made it work since we’ve already planned to hang out there from 9pm-3am. And once it came to paying our bill of $585.00, I’m told that they do not accept American Express, despite me confirming with them multiple times that this is how I’d plan to pay.
I don’t understand how all staff here were difficult to work with but it was frustrating and they did not make it easy. Karaoke is great way to party and enjoy a weekend night out, it’s just unfortunate that the staff here allowed for so many mistakes to happen without any remorse.
This will be the last time I book a party here since the places in Toronto seem to be...
