I visited here on January 27, 2020 for supper and had a very pleasant experience, however they still have some fine tuning to do with respect to the service and some of their plates. For example, concerning the service, we received our food before receiving plates to eat off of and the rice came a little later than the bowls of lamb and chicken which were both swimming in delicious gravies, begging for rice to be on the plates to absorb the delicious gravies, so we ate it with our breads until the rice arrived. So a few little things like this were off, but I give them the chance to improve on that with time. As for the food... although the flavors were absolutely delicious, there were no dumplings in our "Chaat Papdi with Bhalla", just flour crisps and a whole lot of yogurt gravy... and the dish was supposed to include potatoes and chick peas, but there were only like 3 chick peas in the entire dish and I don't recall having had any potatoes either, so that was a little disappointing as we were really looking forward to having the dumplings et al, and I regret having forgotten to mention it while I was paying for my meal... I also had the "Dal Makhani" (Black Lentil Dahl) but it was all butter and cream and almost no lentils at all so that was very disappointing, too. Besides those 2 items, my friend had the Chicken Tikka Masala which he said was delicious and I took a little taste and thought it was very good also, and I had the Lamb Vindaloo and was very happy with that dish as it was fiery spicy just the way I like it and very aromatic and flavorful. So overall I am going to only award 3 stars for my first visit, but I intend to return in about a month, or so because the flavors were really awesome and authentic, but I will be looking for "professional" service and if a dish says there are dumplings and flour crisps in a rich combination of spices and yogurt with chick peas, potatoes and tamarind pulp with mint chutney, that's what I'll be expecting and I won't pay for it the next time if it is incomplete as it was last night... after all, it cost me just over $103.00 so when I spend that much in a restaurant for 2 people (and we didn't buy any alcohol) I expect a higher standard than...
Read moreWe ordered Non-Veg platter and the chicken was not cooked properly or overcooked. It’s felt like the chicken was not fresh. We asked our server and she denied, she said the chicken is cooked properly. We did not say anything for the veg platter however the paneer was hard and smells terrible with the food coloring which was disgusting. After 10 minutes our server came back and she said I double checked with our cook and he said, the chicken is cooked properly. We were like can you not see that it looks almost pink from inside and also the other pieces are so hard to even slice with the knife. Yet again another counter statement by the server that THE CHICKEN IS COOKED PROPERLY AND THE KNIFE IS NOT SHARP ENOUGH TO CUT THROUGH THE CHICKEN. It was kind of a war of tug between the server and us. We were trying to give our honest feedback but apparently she was not willing to hear a word.
Chicken Kadhai was sweet and the lamb curry also tasted the same as Chicken Kadhai. However Tandoori Momos and Garlic naan bread was really good. No customer service skills shown by the server. No courtesy even to change the food. We wasted $106 on that food that was not even cooked. MASTER STROKE from the server that she has applied discount to our meal. FYI she applied a discount of $2.10 on a bill of $106. At the end its not about the discount, its all about the customer service standards. I dont believe you can be perfect in all standards but if you are not open to accept criticism then you are doomed. PLEASE LEARN SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AND COOK YOUR FOOD PROPERLY BEFORE YOU PRESENT IT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. I hope you guys get food health and safety inspection soon and then you realize...
Read moreThe waiter cleared tables, then immediately after handled food coming out of the kitchen and polished cutlery without washing his hands in between. My table was also dirty with leftover food on the tealight centrepiece.
Super slow service, despite being 1 of 2 occupied tables in the restaurant with a total of 4 delivery orders placed throughout the course of our meal (all the delivery people had to wait at least 15 minutes too). The waiter never checked up on the table, and had to be flagged down multiple times to get service.
We were told the appetizer could not be split on the bill. After confirming the samosa appetizer 3 times when placing the order initially (for some reason the waiter struggled to remember it), it seems the appetizer was forgotten, as it arrived at the table after the mains. We flagged down the waiter about the missing appetizer halfway through our mains, and was told it would arrive after the mains because the tandoori takes a long time to heat up.
My butter chicken and plain naan bread were both good. The late appetizer was kinda "meh", a typical samosa with chutney dip would be preferred, but can't fault a little creativity.
Overall, the food was good, but the cleanliness concerns and poor service force me to give this place a...
