Jojo Restaurant — Restaurant in Moncton

The reviews led us to this very unassuming restaurant and we are so happy we found it! I grew up going to great Chinese restaurants in Montreal’s China town and across North America. This is not Canadian Chinese, this is not high end, but it is richly flavorful, simple, and well prepared Shanghai style. The menu is mostly combos and a very good value. We started with homemade egg rolls which were just a little different than anything I’d had before and a treat. I had shanghai noodles and Kung Pau tofu while my husband chose Shanghai noodles with sweet and sour pork. Each was delicious, spiced to the level we requested, and unlike any Canadian style versions of these dishes we’d had before. Jojo is amazing! Found the restaurant on Google maps while looking for a Chinese restaurant. Keep in mind that this is Shanghai style Chinese food, and not your standard "North American fast food" Chinese (and it's SO much better!) I had the Kung Pao Chicken and Shanghai noodles and was extremely impressed with the quality of the food and the flavour. The best part of my experience however, wasn't the incredible food, but chatting with the owner! The restaurant was quiet so my friend and I had an opportunity to visit with him. He was so friendly and kind. He talked about the fact that he wants to always treat his customers as his friends, and it shows! Cannot reccomended...

This restaurant is def a hidden gem. After a horrible and expensive Chinese meal in Halifax, we didn't have any expectations on this tiny restaurant in a small city (Moncton). But this small restaurant delivered amazing food on much lower price point. My whole family, especially my mom who has been craving Chinese food during the whole trip, loved the food!!! The owner couple is very nice and polite. BTW - My husband and I are both Chinese. My mom is visiting Canada from China. So I think we can totally speak for what good chinese...
