One thing I like about this place is that the people are very friendly. They greet you with warm welcome and make you feel at home. The ambience is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere at the Taj Mahal gives you a feeling of being in a authentic Indian restaurant. I met the owner of this establishment in person. He is a young and very energetic person with a pleasant personality. He has an excellent team of professionals who are passionate and proud of their work. Not only I see them take their job seriously, but also I did notice that they enjoy what they do. A real customer service is shown here. The waitress led me to a well set table and ensured that I was comfortably seated. She then asked me if I would like a glass of cold or warm water to drink. Then she gave me the menu and let me be alone to decide what I would like to eat. The À la carte has the right price tag attached to it. So, I ordered Chicken Tikka and Ginger ale. I requested not to make it spicy as don't have good tolerance for heat. They served this wonderful dish. As I took a bite, I felt that it was genuine. They have a great chef, who cooks fresh food. I did go back several times until the day I had to head back to my home. I really liked every single meal and the snacks that I tried. I was served with mouth watering delicacies and I savoured every bit of it with joy and gladness in my heart. The entire place is really clean. I do recommend this place.

We went with a group of 11 people and ordered both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Vegetarian Starter- Chili Panner was awesome, we liked so much that we had ordered twice. Main Course- We have ordered dal Makhni, Kadai Panner and Malia Kofta. They all are good in taste. Generally, we saw Malia Kofta gravy sweet in taste, although in Taj you will find spicy which is good for the people who likes Malia Kofta spicy. Breads-Onion Kulcha taste was best, Garlic Naan, Butter and Plain Naan was also good. Non-vegetarian We tried Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Masala those were good in taste. Area of improvement: 1)Ambience- the lighting should be proper among restaurant and the wall paintings should be catchy. 2) Starter- the items should be more for vegetarian like Chinese -noodles, Manchurian or South Indian - dosa, idly or chap 3) Quantity- it was less, you can increase the price little bit, however please increase the quantity of food. 4) Drinks - Mango Lassi please make it sweet. Looks like the mangoes that was used in preparing the lassi that was sour in taste, although presentation was good.

The Taj Mahal in Moncton is a real gem. The moment you walk through the door and smell the warm aromas you know you're at the right place for an amazing meal. I recommend making a reservation if you want to eat here as the restaurant is small and quickly fills up. Their staff are very informative and friendly, you feel like you are eating amongst friends. The menu selection is excellent! We always order more than we can eat because there are ao many great choices to try. They offer stuffed naan bread which is a real treat. My favorite is the potato one that has green peas and spices. Im not sure if these are on the menu and they make different ones on different days so ask the server, you won't regret it!

We called to check for parking option as this place is in downtown and person(male) told us that nothing is nearby and we should try back street. He also reminded that post 7:30pm he won't take us in due to prior reservation. He was polite and friendly. We reached before 6:30 pm and greeted by Sunny but he denied us to dine in as 7:30 onwards there was a big group coming in. There were two other tables empty and we told him that we just called and were asked to come before 7:30 but he lied on our face to not talked to anyone and turned rude. I tried to explain as I was tired after a day long ride and we called specially before coming here but he kept refusing to have any words with us. I agreed for takeout and we ordered(at 6:30Pm) the food. Sunny told me that he doesn't make rules here and we might do the order in 15 min but may not finish the food by 7:30. he definitely need to be coached on how to handle customers in a conflicting situation. He later admitted to talk with us, when I told him for bad review but didn't apologize still for his goofup. I would let the owner handle him or if he is the owner then may god bless you. Food is just ok, signature butter chicken got too much butter though chicken peices were marinated well. Garlic naan and garlic roti were not good in taste. Non indian ppl may like it but someone coming from Toronto area can skip this place. Not worth for 4+ rating as saw other people also reported for bad...

Only tried takeout, but did try many of our favorites, knowing that each Indian restaurant will have their own version of these recipes. We ended up enjoying about half of what we ordered, and the breads were good but expensive. Most of the entree dishes were strangely sweet - sweet enough to be distracting. We’ve never had Indian food from a restaurant that was so sweet. Other than that, the rogan josh seem to have raw spices in it that hadn’t been cooked out and the Biryani was - sorry to say - the worst Biryani we’ve ever eaten, from any restaurant or from within our own kitchen. It was tasteless and gummy, and we had to throw it out. In the end, we had a lot of leftovers that nobody wanted. The prices seem reasonable for what you get, but stop being so stingy and include plain basmati rice with entrees. It costs next to nothing for you and would make customers happier - hate it when restaurants charge for rice. So, it’s a little less than average, but I wouldn’t order from here again, even for the dishes we liked, because of the styrofoam dishes they pack the take out in. They do not close properly - not just my experience, but the cashier warned me when I picked up my take out to be careful because the lids do not close on the dishes. So, the restaurant knows the dishes they use are bad and don’t close properly, but are too cheap to change to better packaging for their customers. (Yes, we had spillage before...
