Ever heard of Speedy Gonzalez and his catchphrase that was "arriba arriba andelez andelez" - ariba burrito is one of those places that will make you say that feel that and live that!

Latin Quarter is a gem for students and travelers to Montreal and having spend 4 pm to 2 am in the quarter was such a full experience. And having Arriba in our plans was extremely happccidentical for us and we couldn't be glad.

We reached there 20 mins before closing and their manager Karan(we talked a bit later and got to know this fine gentleman) didn't rush us or anything got us to our seats and mentioned about their closing time, suggesting nice things to have and from there left us alone till we were ready to order. We were mindful of the closing and we did a quick order and he mentioned we can sit for as long as we wanted to just he wanted to get us the food in time and then he carried on with his closing duties.

The food was exceptional and so was the vibe and the place. Nice latin/mexican music soft lighting and brightly and classily decorated place. The owners put quite a bit of their soul into this place and all the people who work there, work with pride and it shows.

The plates were gorgeous and the food on it even more so. This was one of the first places in Montreal we had a full meal and we were really glad to start our food trip here. The tacos were immensely tasty and deep flavoured like they had been cooked right and not hastily, their tortillas were fresh and the chips, guac and salsa were fresh and beautiful.

There are a total of 4-5 places that I could count in the st dennis latin quarter stretch and went to two more, Arriba was by far the better option of all. The others were open a bit later and hence those were an option we took in days later we stayed.

If you get to the Latin Quarter, you should definitely get to them.

Their Barbaocoa is...

We visited Arriba Burrito for the first time to celebrate my sister’s birthday, choosing the spot based on strong online ratings and making a reservation in advance.

The ambiance and entertainment during brunch were enjoyable, and our waiter, Karan, was attentive—especially in accommodating our young children by asking the performer to avoid smoke effects near our table.

However, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor communication. Despite clear and repeated instructions, our custom food requests, especially for the Huevos Rancheros, were not executed properly. My daughter received only a small portion of scrambled eggs (which suited her), but we were still charged the full menu price ($17.95), which felt excessive given what was served.

Additionally, my sister’s meal arrived incorrectly, with the eggs and salsa not separated as requested, and the extra egg for her children was missing. The server who brought the food seemed to misunderstand our requests entirely. Fortunately, Karan did his best to correct the issue and offered a complimentary plate of nachos.

Despite some good service moments, the inconsistent communication and pricing left us unsatisfied.

————————————

Just wanted to add a quick update :

The waiter actually gave us a call afterward to apologize for the mix-up with the kids' egg dish. He explained that he didn’t mean for it to be charged at the regular price, but another waiter had done so without realizing. He even refunded the plate, which was really thoughtful.

It was super nice of him to take the time to call and explain everything. We really appreciated it. This definitely showed he cared and wanted to make things right....

A brunch restaurant that I would go back to and recommend to other people 😍

The staff was very patient 💗 and I appreciate our waitress warning us about the sizes of the plates before locking in without orders. With that said the plates are quite hefty and huge for one person. 🙂‍↕️☺️ Each dish is shareable.

With the menu prices, it looks expensive but the price definitely matches the amount and quality of food you are getting.

We chose to sit on the back terrasse which was very well lit and decorated. We did not wait too long for the food at all. [Spinach omelet]: tatses great for a light brunch, not too salty or cheesy. ⭐️

[Ham omelet]: quite filling for one person, tastes great ⭐️

[3 beef birria tacos]: simply one of the best 👌🏼. The waitress recommended it and it did not disappoint. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

[Chillaquiles]: devoured in a matter of minutes ⭐️⭐️⭐️

[Creme brulée pancakes]: ⭐️⭐️⭐️👌🏼 perfect and lovely presentation. Came in a very huge plate with lots of berries. Pancakes were fluffy and spongy but a bit too buttery for my taste. It is not as sweet as it looks too.

We distributed the dish into five pieces and was a great way to end our savoury brunch.

Forgot what my friend ordered but the dish was spicy. Flavour was great but definitely trust the menu when it says spicy, its spicy. cookie latté: tasted just like a regular latté but with sweetness from the lotus biscuit

marzipan latté: again, just like a regular latté. Cannot taste the marzipan at all. We arrived hungry from a very long trip and left with a very full belly ready to walk around...

Had a terrible experience there. We went in after seeing their ad outside for alcohol, and after we ordered. We tried ordering pina colada first, but they apparently did not have any left, so we went for a different drink. Then we waited about 20 minutes after which we were refused our drinks until we ordered food, on the premise of the alcohol permit. The problem is that when we said we'd like to leave instead because we were not hungry and did not come here for food, the waiter became extremely rude and told us we had to stay because the drinks were already prepared. We were forced to order food to get our beverages. When we paid, the waiter just simply tossed the machine and walked away, not even telling us goodbye. I regret giving him tip despite that... Besides, the drinks were way too sour and the paper straw just melted in our drinks which was disgusting. The 7$ churros was a bit ridiculous and was far from the best churros I had in my life. I guess the fact that I was forced to buy it did not help. There is a much better mexican restaurant next to it (3 amigos) which is way more friendly and has better quality. I would give 0 star if I could, as this was the worst experience I ever had at a restaurant.
