Over priced for cafeteria style.

I have to re think this as you charged more for Americanos now. .With Starbucks opening a new large cafe across the street, you might want to lower your prices. I understand that prices have gone up. But to charge 50 cents more for an Americano is a bit much. Most places have up their prices by 5 to 10 cents. And now you are also changing an additional 50 cents for added milk! Milk that no other coffee cafe charges. I am not talking about steam milk, milk that is poured out of the milk carton. When I questioned this, I was told that Americanos are to be drank without milk! A few months ago you never charged for milk, what changed, oh wait....Greed! So now my wife and I will no longer come daily any more. It's the principal of it all, it is not so much the increase but the greed! taking advantage of customers. $5.00 increase for two coffees for 5 days a week is a bit too much, $20 a month $240 for 1 year. We will use what we save buy making our own coffee and creating our own cafe experience at home.

I keep track of my expenses and I can say no other cafe charges extra for adding regular cold milk to any coffee orders. I know of no cow milk shortage or cows going on strike..

One coffee cafe in old Montreal has not increased their cost for an Americano in the past 3 year's that I have been recording.

The whole coffee beans "Bullet Proof" brand, is one of the premium brands that I buy from the store at regular retail prices has only gone up in price by about $1.50 for one bag of whole bean 100% Arabica coffee for 340 grams.

Let's look at Starbucks Americanos 10z Including milk at no extra cost is $3.85, this includes taxes and you also earn rewards for every order. And Starbucks offers double the points about 7 days in a given month.

It's better value to go to Starbucks. You have out priced yourselves from the market.

Your small Americanos $4.00, maybe about 3 ounces of coffee, I included the cost your charging for just a bit of milk poured from the milk carton.

Starbucks medium Americanos $3.85 for 12 ounce includes milk, earn rewards and a smile

AlphaBet Cafe offers a much more superior coffee. Small Americano $3.25 8oz with tax and include as much milk as you like.

Value for your money is severely lacking, Amea, you need to re think what your brand value is because reading all your bad reviews and your bla responses tells me you do not understand what your lost customers are saying.

We will never...

My wife and I came during the busy lunch period. I told a group of students who were studying with their laptops and books that Amea has a no laptop policy between12 – 2:30 pm. They were rude stating that they didn’t have to follow the policy as other tables were also using laptops. After my wife and I found a table and were beginning to drink our coffee one of the students went to an employee to complain that they were told about the policy!!?? Instead of reminding the students about the policy, the employee angrily stomped to our table and chastised us that it was not our place to tell other customers about the policy. He then stated that we were not welcome in Amea and that he was getting security.

This employee’s decision to harass long-time customers and to call security!!? was irrational and bizarre. Instead of speaking to the students about the use of laptops during peak hours, he was confrontational with the people who were abiding by the policy. His behaviour was so odd that we decided it was best to leave. It doesn’t appear that Amea is enforcing its own policy and that it is allowing some employees to address their long-time customers in a disrespectful and unacceptable manner.

This employee claimed he was the manager, but I doubt this. He emerged from the kitchen wearing an apron and a baseball hat. I knew the former manager, Sarah, who was a lovely lady who respected her regular customers. This employee should not be interacting...

I have been seeing photos of the food from amea cafe for weeks now and today I finally got to experience it for myself and let me tell you it was worth our 40 minute drive and a great reason to leave the house even at 9 months pregnant. The atmosphere is great if you’re looking for a place to meet with friends, have a business lunch, or get some work done. There is lots of space, with seating options both in and outside. We also had a very easy time finding parking despite the fact that we were downtown. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and really helpful as we figured out what we wanted to try (basically everything lol). We tried the arancini which comes with a salad and OH MY GOODNESS it was so good I’m still thinking about it hours later. 🤤 We also tried a few different kinds of pizza and each one was better than the last. We had iced lattes, and the coffee was so smooth and delicious. All of these things were great, and I could rave about them for awhile but nothing compared to the strawberry rhubarb croissant. My husband and I shared one (I only shared a couple of bites truthfully because rhubarb has been my biggest pregnancy craving). The only words that come to mind are life changing. You have to experience it to understand. I would drive 40 minutes just for that croissant. We can’t wait to go back and have already booked an outing to go with friends next week. You’ve got to...

I wanted to love this place and had very high expectations from the good reviews and all the hype but it's not really worth it. Maybe the concept is good but the lack of planning and logistics are a disaster. They should enable the reservation because the service is disastrous. Almost an hour in line to sign up for a waiting list, after signing up for the waiting list you have to wait between 30 minutes and 1 hour, they send you a text message, then they take you to a table but they don't tell you that you have to make another line to order food and on top of it, the drinks are ordered at another counter and you also have to make a huge line and wait another hour to have a coffee. The experience was a disaster, I had my food ready and my coffee took almost 40 min, actually it was never ready, I had to go and the barista was super rude and told me that it wasn't his problem and that I had to keep waiting, it was a simple American coffee. Finally the cashier was the one who helped me to speed up and when they gave me my coffee with milk on the side, there were no trays or staff to help me take it to the table. I don't recommend it, the food is ok but nothing special, everything is very normal, as if you were going to put up with long waits and lousy service.

Joyeux anniversaire, encore, K.

My wife dragged me to this place after all the hype around the Supreme Croissant. In my opinion, from a foodie’s point of view, it is “not worth it”, from a TikTok and Instagram’r point of view it is a safe heaven for a potential 30 sec of fame in the social media platforms. I saw tons of people taking pictures but not a lot of people with finished plates. Anyone claiming this cafe is the best in Canada or in Montreal is not a foodie and i doubt tried the many awesome bakeries and cafe around Montreal. The Brunch menu is lacklustre and the baked goods are okay-ish. I do have to give credit where credit is due, and admit the Supreme Croissant is something different that I never tried. Since they are one of the only one’s at this point of time, I have to say they have the best one. However, things are extremely pricey so proceed with caution. The vibe was nice and the interior of the dinning hall was pretty. That is the only thing that made me provide a 2 star. Go for the pictures not for the food.
