Here's the updated review:
Disappointing Fiesta at Ariba
I'm still trying to figure out how a Mexican restaurant can go so wrong. Ariba had all the right ingredients, but somehow managed to turn them into a flavorless, uninspired mess.
The tacos were the biggest letdown. Dry, tasteless beef, all wrapped in a stale tortilla. The "signature" salsa tasted like it came straight from a jar, and the guacamole was an unappetizing shade of brown.
But the real kicker was the price tag. Ariba is charging an outrageous $30-$40 for a few tiny tacos and a small side of chips. It's like they're trying to rob you blind.
The service was friendly, but slow and disorganized. Our server seemed to disappear for long stretches of time, leaving us to wonder if we'd been forgotten.
Overall, Ariba was a disappointing and unauthentic Mexican dining experience. With so many other great options out there, I wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money here.

Read moreI love Mexican food, and I'm firmly aware of the stereotype that it's dirty or gives you diharea. That's why i'm really sad in writing this review. I loved the food, loved the service. the waiter was super nice and we got our food quickly. it was delicious. However, earlier in the evening, I noticed neither of our glasses were clean. Mine had dishwasher streaks and my boyfriend's had lip marks on it. I didn't want to be troublesome so I didnt say anything. Later that night, my boyfriend and I threw up a lot and had to sleep the rest of the following day. Usually, I wouldn't assume it was the restaurant, but since we both ate and shared the same meal, and had the exact symptoms at the same time, it's the most likely conclusion. Anyways, It's a great restaurant and judging by all these wonderful reviews, this doesnt...
Read moreSome of the burritos in Montreal, especially after spending months trying to find the best tex-mex place. It's a little pricy but for how hard it is to find them this good that doesn't bother me so much.
-1 star for the insane wait-times here during COVID. You're often left waiting 20+ minutes with only a few people in line and it loses it's appeal for fast food when you're constantly stuck waiting for half an hour for a quick transaction. I think the people here are awesome and kind but they really need to find a way to organize...
