This is a cute, little resto conveniently located a couple of blocks from the Mont Royal metro station. The interior is bright and a little quirky, with a collage of Post-It note art on one of the walls. The menu is vast and a little overwhelming for a new-comer. The music was a mellow collection of 70s soul and light disco. The service was friendly and helpful. Props to the young lady who asked a young man waiting for his take-out order to turn down the volume on his phone. Use your headphones for the tranquility of others - C'est Bon! :-) To the food. It was fresh and delicious and some items looked dangerously realistic. Our only issue was the experience of trying to eat some of these items as rolled sushi - it didn't really work. One sushi roll was basically a salad wrapped in chewy rice paper. After you manage to gnaw through the rice paper, that whole thing falls apart on your plate, or lap, or floor. The F'Eel Good sushi roll wasn't quite as bad, but still fell apart after the first nibble. We had better luck with the Arc au Ciel (rainbow) roll. If you're on a first date and trying to impress, maybe skip the sushi rolls and go for a poke bowl or something easier to eat with some grace. :-) The rolls were presented on a wooden board that looked like a cross section of a tree, with a collection of edible flowers and other greenery on the side - lovely. :-) Finally, while we enjoyed the booth option, there are also several chairs with no backs on them - not ideal for trying to relax and possibly linger around for another roll. Overall, a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis restaurant and the food is a divine treat not only for vegans but everyone who enjoys tasty love filled food! If you are a meat eater, you will probably forget & not miss that there was no meat or animal by-products in this satisfying experience. I got there late close to closing time, had to wait in line for a restaurant which is a big no way for me but my friend seemed determined so I gave in and waited. Let me tell you that I never line up for a restaurant but this time I did & it was worth every minute waiting! The staff are down to earth and amazing, the decor was bright and cozy and I had the honor of meeting the owner/chef at the end of my meal which was the desert, she was so sweet and now I know why the food was so divinely yummy. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked beautiful and incredibly delicious! My eyes kept lighting up everytime someone else's order came out. The waiter was so kind, patient and ready to answer all our questions.
THE FOOD!!!!š¤¤š¤¤š¤¤ OMG, not only was the presentation beautiful but everything looked so delicious and was! There were so many harmonious flavors & textures in my mouth. I felt so great and satisfied on many levels after my meal. I will definitely spread the word & return with people! Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen speaking of vegan sushis in Montreal, we obviously have to compare with Momo Sushi. I've been advised to try Ohana and expect the best sushis in town, well, I found them good but maybe a bit less original than the Momo ones and also a bit less savoury. Don't get me wrong, this is still a good vegan sushi option in the Plateau though. However on the service side, it was absolutely awful. The waitress seemed completely lost even if the restaurant was far from full. Half of our group was English-speaking, the other half French-speaking and she was really struggling with English. Even when speaking French she made us repeat many times the items we ordered, items were served in a random order, with very long waiting time between them so some of us finished eating while some others didn't even get their food. She kept repeating that it won't be long even if food would not be ready for another 45 minutes. We had to ask multiple times for water to get it. She was quite rude multiple times. She couldn't figure out how to make 2 bills for a 4 people table and had to ask her colleague who didn't know what we ordered to handle it. Everything was so slow, we had to stay 2 hours and a half. That was very disappointing and I am not really sure I...
