Basically, the paellas are a cash grab. On the evening menu, $27 a person for a paella (we took the negra) gets you an overly and unnecessarily humongous hot plate on your very small table, with sticky, thinly layered, almost burnt, way overly greasy rice complete with the toppings that come from your menu choice. We ate the not so great toppings (at $81 for one 3-person plate, we felt we had to) but the rice made us all sick. It was just way too greasy and heavy. And no veggies to be seen anywhere unless you ordered their only (and expensive) bowl of salad as an entrée. Don't take my word for it; try to spot the vegetables in customer pictures. Good luck. We all had just ok entrées, but at a cost of $254 for 3 people, 3 beers, not so great service (we each got our entrées at least 3 minutes apart), small tables, uncomfortable chairs (that you can't sit back on without knocking out the person behind), and fruit flies that bothered us during the whole meal (and we were inside), we'll pass on this one.
In reply to the owner's response: I did not call your food a waste of money...although considering is was partially burnt and made us all sick, it certainly wasn't worth the money we paid for it. That you should respond to something I didn't say instead of showing any concern for the fact that we all got sick, we were swarmed by fruit flies throughout our meal, and got not so great service, shows your total lack of regard for your customers. I'm sure you already have plenty of friends and family that will help you in raising your number of stars because, after our bad experience and your reaction, it is unlikely to be a true review of...

Read moreTo be honest, my overall dining experience in Montreal was a bit disappointing. I probably had too high expectations, and that led to my letdown. I had high hopes for Ibéricos, and why wouldn’t I? Venezuelans are known for offering great customer service, and no matter where you go, they always manage to make you smile or have a good time.
That being said, it may not be entirely the owner’s or chef’s fault, but if I were to offer some advice, I’d suggest they focus on improving customer service. They could definitely work on making sure their staff provides better service. We were never greeted when we arrived, and a few of the staff members just looked at us and ignored us as if we didn’t matter. It wasn’t until about 10 minutes later that we had to ask where we could sit. Honestly, the service felt cold and disinterested.
The food, however, was excellent – I have no complaints there. The paella was delicious, with the socarrat cooked perfectly, and the presentation was spot-on, 10/10.
The Basque cheesecake was a nice way to end the meal and definitely made the experience a bit better. It was fantastic, 10/10.
P.S. I’m not sure if he was a waiter or a busboy, and he didn’t introduce himself, but he spoke only French and had dark skin. Thanks to him, my time at the restaurant ended on a positive note. He was a really nice guy, and I hope they take...
